On September 28, Minister of Foreign Affairs Bui Thanh Son received Assistant Foreign Minister of China, Secretary General of the China-Vietnam Bilateral Cooperation Steering Committee Nong Dung.

Minister Bui Thanh Son affirmed that Vietnam consistently considers developing friendly neighborly relations and comprehensive strategic cooperative partnership with China as the top priority in its independent, self-reliant, multilateral and diversified foreign policy.
Expecting that the bilateral relationship will enter a new stage of development after 15 years with many achievements of the comprehensive strategic cooperative partnership, Minister Bui Thanh Son hopes that the two sides will continue to concretize high-level common perceptions, enhance strategic exchanges between leaders of the two countries, strongly promote and strive to achieve many specific progresses in each field of cooperation.
Accordingly, the Minister of Foreign Affairs hopes that the two sides will actively promote and coordinate to prepare well for high-level contacts in the coming time; achieve specific progress in cooperation areas including trade, investment, transport connectivity, railway construction cooperation, projects using Chinese aid capital, as well as coordinate to handle difficulties in a number of cooperation projects.
Agreeing with Minister Bui Thanh Son, Chinese Assistant Foreign Minister Nong Dung affirmed that the relationship between the two Parties and the two countries is developing very well. In particular, after General Secretary Nguyen Phu Trong's visit to China (October 2022), high-level exchanges and contacts between the two countries have taken place regularly. China is willing to work with Vietnam to increase high-level and all-level contacts, promote the signing of many cooperation documents in various fields, creating rich results for bilateral relations.
Regarding maritime issues, the two sides emphasized the importance of seriously implementing the agreements and common perceptions of the two Parties and two countries' senior leaders on maintaining peace and stability at sea. Minister Bui Thanh Son suggested that both sides make efforts to control disagreements well, not allowing complicated incidents to occur, affecting the overall relations between the two countries and peace and stability in the region./.
