Recently, the Hanoi Department of Health has just imposed administrative penalties on a series of pharmacies in the area. Notably, among them is Long Chau 64 Pharmacy under FPT Long Chau Pharmaceutical Joint Stock Company, which was fined 42 million VND. This is one of the pharmacies under FPT Long Chau Pharmaceutical Joint Stock Company that has been handled by authorities of many provinces and cities due to violations in the past.
Authorities determined that Long Chau 64 pharmacy had committed violations such as: Mixing non-medicinal products with drugs in cases where it also sells cosmetics, functional foods, and medical equipment according to the provisions of law; Selling prescription drugs without a prescription; Incompletely posting drug prices at the drug sales location of the pharmaceutical business establishment.
It is known that this is not the first time that a pharmacy belonging to the FPT Long Chau pharmacy system has been fined. Previously, in early February 2024, the People's Committee of Da Lat city, Lam Dong province issued a decision to sanction administrative violations in the medical field against 6 Long Chau Pharmacy business establishments of FPT Long Chau Pharmaceutical Joint Stock Company with a total fine of 40 million VND.

Specifically, during the inspection process, the Da Lat City Health Department discovered 6 business establishments including: Long Chau Pharmacy 1319, Long Chau Pharmacy 829, Long Chau Pharmacy 666, Long Chau Pharmacy 628, Long Chau Pharmacy 1553, Long Chau Pharmacy 849, all of whom violated the law by not posting wholesale and retail prices in Vietnamese Dong or posting incomplete, incorrect, or unclear prices, causing confusion for customers at the transaction location or drug sales location of the pharmaceutical business establishment.
In addition, for Long Chau Pharmacy 666 and Long Chau Pharmacy 1553, the authorities also discovered that the person in charge of professional responsibility of the drug retail facility was absent during the operating hours of the pharmacy facility.
Long Chau 628 Pharmacy does not implement the periodic reporting regime, ad hoc reporting or reporting at the request of competent state pharmaceutical agencies as prescribed by law.
On that basis, the People's Committee of Da Lat city issued a decision to administratively fine the Long Chau pharmacy business establishments of FPT Long Chau Pharmaceutical Joint Stock Company with a total amount of 40 million VND.
These are just two examples of a series of pharmacies belonging to FPT Long Chau Pharmaceutical Joint Stock Company being fined by authorities for administrative violations in the medical field. Because in addition to Hanoi and Lam Dong, many Long Chau pharmacies in Ho Chi Minh City, Khanh Hoa, Hai Phong, Cao Bang, etc. have also been fined. These pharmacies have committed many violations such as not having a pharmacy hygiene process, a process for monitoring adverse drug reactions (ADR). In addition, many other shortcomings were also clearly pointed out by the inspection conclusion such as: Not strictly checking the sensory when importing drugs; not fully updating the batch number and expiry date of drugs in the tracking software system; hanging signs advertising functional foods without mandatory information for functional products "This product is not a medicine, does not have the effect of replacing medicine"; incompletely listing wholesale and retail prices in Vietnamese Dong, causing confusion for customers at the drug sales location of medical pharmaceutical businesses; Incomplete and unclear listing causes confusion for customers; not opening books, not using computers to manage drugs;...
The above violations at a series of pharmacies belonging to FPT Long Chau Pharmaceutical Joint Stock Company have raised questions in public opinion about the compliance with regulations in the medical field of these pharmacies.
It is worth mentioning that according to information published on the website: nhathuoclongchau.com.vn, the FPT Long Chau pharmacy system is one of the prestigious pharmaceutical retail chains in Vietnam, under FPT Digital Retail Joint Stock Company - a member of FPT Group. As of the end of March 2024, FPT Long Chau has 1,587 pharmacies nationwide.
With such a large number of pharmacies, it is thought that what makes the reputation of the FPT Long Chau pharmacy system is nothing other than the quality of products and the awareness of respecting the law, complying with regulations in the medical field.
