Regarding the landslide incident at Ninh Tao beach, Hop Thinh commune, the Chairman of the People's Committee of Hiep Hoa district (Bac Giang) has just decided to administratively sanction Duc Long Investment Joint Stock Company for exploiting minerals but not completing land lease procedures.
Specifically, on March 17, the People's Committee of Hop Thinh Commune received a complaint from the people about Duc Long Investment Joint Stock Company exploiting sand and gravel from the riverbed, causing landslides on the road to Ninh Tao beach area. On the afternoon of March 27, the People's Committee of the district issued an official dispatch requesting the surveying unit to promptly have the results of measuring the current status of the enterprise's mineral exploitation area to determine the cause and handle the violation.
Through determining the road section of the agricultural production area of the people adjacent to the mineral mining mine (sand, riverbed gravel) of Duc Long Investment Joint Stock Company was eroded.
According to the measurement results of the functional sector, the Mineral Mining Company (soil, sand, gravel) exceeded the land lease boundary with a total area of 834 m2.
Based on the measurement results, the Chairman of the People's Committee of Hiep Hoa district decided to fine Duc Long Investment Joint Stock Company 15 million VND for occupying agricultural land for growing annual crops at Ninh Tao beach for mineral exploitation but not completing land lease procedures.
Along with the administrative penalty, the Chairman of the People's Committee of Hiep Hoa district requested the enterprise to restore the original surface of the land before the violation (completed before July 15) and return the illegal benefits gained from the above act with a total amount of nearly 2.5 million VND.
