Domestic gold decreases, world gold increases strongly again
Today, SJC gold continued to drop sharply by half a million VND per tael, currently the price is below 84 million VND/tael, world gold price has turned to skyrocket.

Today's 9999 gold price is listed by DOJI at 81.90 million VND/tael for buying and 83.90 million VND/tael for selling.
SJC gold price at Bao Tin Minh Chau Company Limited is also traded by the enterprise at 82.05 - 83.95 million VND/tael (buy - sell). Meanwhile, at Bao Tin Manh Hai, it is being traded at 81.85 - 84.15 million VND/tael (buy - sell).
According to Kitco, the world gold price recorded at 5:00 a.m. today, Vietnam time, was at 2,376.65 USD/ounce, a difference of 44.05 USD/ounce compared to yesterday's gold price. Converted according to the current exchange rate at Vietcombank, the world gold price is about 70.841 million VND/tael (excluding taxes and fees). Thus, the price of SJC gold bars is still 11.359 million VND/tael higher than the international gold price.
Japanese Yen exchange rate plummets to 34-year low
Today, the Japanese Yen exchange rate continued to plummet, falling to its lowest level in 34 years, and the black market Yen exchange rate has not stopped falling.
Japanese Yen exchange rate surveyed on the morning of April 12, 2024 at banks as follows:
At Vietcombank, the buying rate is 159.65 VND/JPY and the selling rate is 167.92 VND/JPY, an increase of 0.08 VND in the buying direction and a decrease of 0.97 VND in the selling direction.
At Vietinbank, the buying and selling rates decreased by 0.06 VND, equivalent to 158.84 VND/JPY and 168.54 VND/JPY.
At BIDV, the Japanese Yen exchange rate decreased by 1.08 VND in buying and 1.17 VND in selling, reaching 160.11 VND/JPY and 168.68 VND/JPY, respectively.
At Eximbank, the buying price decreased by 1.21 VND and the selling price decreased by 1.26 VND, respectively at 160.59 VND/JPY and 165.25 VND/JPY.
At Techcombank, the Japanese Yen exchange rate decreased by 1.2 VND at buying and 1.24 VND at selling with prices of 156,333 VND/JPY and 168,74 VND/JPY respectively.
At Sacombank, the Japanese Yen exchange rate decreased by 0.95 VND in buying and decreased by 0.97 VND in selling, corresponding to the prices of 162.38 VND/JPY and 167.41 VND/JPY.
According to the survey, today Sacombank is the bank with the highest buying rate of Japanese Yen and Eximbank is the bank with the lowest selling rate among the banks.
USD increases "skyrocketing"
USD exchange rate today April 12, USD VCB increased by 40 VND in both buying and selling directions, world USD also continued to increase slightly due to persistent inflation.
The central VND/USD exchange rate announced by the State Bank is adjusted to 24,046 VND/USD, up 10 VND compared to the trading session on April 11.
Currently, the exchange rate allowed for trading by commercial banks ranges from 23,400 - 25,198 VND/USD. The US Dollar exchange rate has also been brought to the buying and selling range by the State Bank of Vietnam from 23,400 to 25,198 VND/USD.
The USD exchange rate at banks and domestic foreign exchange rates this morning recorded a series of upward adjustments at banks. Specifically, Vietcombank has a buying price of 24,800 and a selling price of 25,170, an increase of 40 VND compared to the trading session on April 11. The current USD buying and selling prices are in the range of 23,400 - 25,300 VND/USD.
In the world market, the Dollar Index (DXY), measuring the USD against 6 major currencies (EUR, JPY, GBP, CAD, SEK, CHF), stopped at 105.27 points - up 0.03% compared to the transaction on April 11.
