Application of science and technology in production

Identifying the application of science and technology in production as an inevitable trend, helping agricultural production develop remarkably, in recent times, Farmers' Associations at all levels in the province have focused on developing models of applying science and technology.

Mr. Pham Van Tuan - owner of Nam Duong Cordyceps cultivation and distribution facility, Zone 3, Van Phu Ward, Viet Tri City actively applies technology to production.

The Provincial Farmers' Association currently has over 200,000 members. In order to help members improve product quality and bring high economic efficiency, the Association regularly encourages members to apply science and technology in production. In 2024, the Farmers' Association at all levels coordinated with the Department of Agriculture to organize training courses on transferring the application of scientific and technological advances in cultivation, animal husbandry, and aquaculture for over 54,000 officials, members, and farmers; built 209 agricultural production models applying scientific and technological advances.

Along with that, supplying over 155 tons of seeds, 2.65 tons of pesticides, 2,174 tons of various types of animal feed, 164 agricultural machines with a total value of 25 billion VND. Cooperating with Lam Thao Super Phosphate and Chemical Joint Stock Company to supply over 7,700 tons of delayed NPK fertilizer with an amount of over 54.7 billion VND; supporting transportation costs for 5 districts of Thanh Son, Tan Son, Yen Lap, Thanh Thuy, Doan Hung worth 474 million VND.

Organize the implementation of 2 provincial-level science and technology projects and topics "Building a model of linking the consumption of OCOP products and agricultural products for members of the Farmers' Association in Phu Tho province" and the grassroots level "Designing and upgrading the Phu Tho Farmers' Association's electronic information page".

Comrade Dang Viet Anh - Head of the Economic - Social Committee, Provincial Farmers' Association said: The Provincial Farmers' Association has directed the grassroots Farmers' Association to propagate, mobilize, and guide members to change their thinking, apply scientific and technological advances in production, and improve product quality. Up to now, in the province, there have been a number of models of members successfully applying science and technology to production, livestock, and cultivation, meeting market requirements, bringing positive results such as net house technology, membrane house technology, water-saving irrigation technology, raising river fish in ponds, cultivation and production processes according to VietGAP standards, and raising livestock in the direction of biosafety...

In 2020, Mr. Pham Van Tuan in Zone 3, Van Phu Ward, Viet Tri City - owner of Nam Duong Cordyceps cultivation and distribution facility boldly deployed a high-tech Cordyceps cultivation model with a scale of more than ^200m2 . He invested in installing a sterile room system, cold room, mushroom cultivation room and necessary equipment for Cordyceps cultivation such as shaker, autoclave, freeze dryer, air conditioner, cultivation rack... with a total initial cost of over 1 billion VND. Mr. Tuan shared: "In the beginning of cultivating Cordyceps, I also encountered many difficulties, the mushrooms were damaged a lot, but I was still determined to work and gain experience, my wife and I encouraged each other to overcome difficulties, so far the model has stabilized, bringing the family income of nearly 800 million VND/year".

The results achieved are favorable conditions for Farmers' Associations at all levels to continue to propagate and mobilize members to apply science and technology to agricultural development, helping to increase productivity, reduce labor, thereby contributing to improving the lives and incomes of farmers and ensuring sustainable agricultural development.
