Applying science and technology to enhance agricultural production value and sustainable development of bird's nest farming

On the afternoon of April 11, the Department of Agriculture and Environment held a workshop on applying science and technology to enhance value in agricultural production to adapt to climate change and sustainable development of bird's nest farming in the period of 2021 - 2024; implementation solutions until 2025 in Bac Lieu province.

At the workshop, delegates listened to a summary report on the results of applying science and technology to increase value in agricultural production adapting to climate change; results of developing the bird's nest farming profession in the province; developing a sustainable livestock and poultry farming chain; solutions to protect and develop the bird's nest population; state management of bird's nest farming in Vietnam; sharing experiences in raising, advantages and difficulties of bird's nest farmers; solutions to improve the efficiency of fertilizer use and soil fertility for rice cultivation; some technical advances in managing rice pests and diseases to increase value in agricultural production adapting to climate change in Bac Lieu province; solutions for researching and applying science and technology in monitoring, warning, forecasting the environment and aquatic diseases.

The workshop is a forum for managers, scientists, businesses and people in the agricultural sector to share experiences and propose solutions for the application of science and technology in sustainable agricultural development, especially in the context of climate change; building sustainable value chains, increasing competitiveness for agricultural products of Bac Lieu province.
