The Ca Mau Shrimp Festival and Mekong Delta OCOP Product Connection Forum with the theme "Ca Mau Shrimp Festival 2023 - Proud of Vietnamese brands" is a regional-scale event, taking place from December 10 to 13.
Mr. Nguyen Minh Luan, Vice Chairman of the People's Committee of Ca Mau province, said that shrimp is closely associated with all aspects of life of Ca Mau people. Shrimp is not only food and economic but also a spiritual product of friendship of Ca Mau people.
The main content of this event is also to build and develop the brand of Ca Mau shrimp industry.

" The Shrimp Festival is not only an economic event but also a cultural and social event that connects many fields both domestically and internationally. The province identifies the Shrimp Festival as the main activity this time. From promotion, trade to communication, all focus on the shrimp festival. Ca Mau shrimp is proud of its Vietnamese brand and Ca Mau shrimp also contributes to raising the profile of Vietnamese shrimp to the world," said Mr. Luan.
With the theme "Ca Mau Shrimp Festival - Proud of Vietnamese brands", the province focuses on activities that demonstrate the blend of traditional cultural colors of the nation with contemporary and modern cultural colors.
This event is of regional scale, with the highlight being the opening program in the form of theatrical performances bearing the mark and characteristics of the land and people of Ca Mau, bringing beautiful images and memories to the hearts of domestic and international tourists and friends.
" Shrimp is a daily food in many families' meals. In addition to being a commodity that helps people get rich and contributes to the province's economic growth, Ca Mau shrimp is also included in local culture and education. We must find a way to highlight the image of shrimp in this event," the Vice Chairman of the Ca Mau Provincial People's Committee added.
Throughout the Shrimp Festival, there is also the "Ca Mau Seafood Cuisine" Festival combined with a performance of Vietnamese culinary quintessence.
Here, organizations, individuals, chefs... in the culinary business will participate in processing and decorating images related to shrimp and other aquatic species endemic to Ca Mau according to different themes.

The Ca Mau Shrimp Festival and Mekong Delta OCOP Forum 2023 include many outstanding activities related to shrimp such as: Exhibition space, shrimp industry trade and OCOP products with nearly 400 booths at Phan Ngoc Hien Square; Workshop: Building the value chain of Ca Mau shrimp industry, Current situation and solutions for sustainable development of shrimp industry...
In addition, the event also includes conferences: Announcing the planning and promoting investment in Ca Mau province, Summarizing the program of cooperation and tourism development between Ho Chi Minh City and provinces and cities in the Mekong Delta; Connecting trade of OCOP products in the Mekong Delta region 2023. In addition, there are also programs on trade and tourism promotion organized.
The Ca Mau Shrimp Festival and Mekong Delta OCOP Forum 2023 are organized by the People's Committee of Ca Mau province to promote the Ca Mau shrimp industry brand and the province's OCOP products to domestic and foreign tourists; create conditions for units and businesses to meet, introduce products, and seek cooperation and development opportunities.
Ca Mau has 137 OCOP products, of which 53 products from 22 entities are processed from shrimp, accounting for 39%. OCOP products processed from shrimp in the province, such as: dried shrimp, shrimp crackers, shrimp floss, shrimp rolls, fried shrimp, sour shrimp paste, pressed dried shrimp... are assessed to be suitable for the taste, meeting the needs of consumers, showing the unique and traditional features of the locality.
In recent times, Ca Mau has made efforts to upgrade OCOP products with practical actions, such as: Investing in equipment for production processes, improving quality, improving packaging and designs, aiming to promote, develop and expand the consumer market...
