Within the framework of the Hanoi Creative Design Festival 2024, the University of Natural Sciences opened its doors to visitors for the first time. The highlight of the program was the light projection and 3D mapping technology on the ancient dome of the nearly 100-year-old building.
The building of the University of Natural Sciences (formerly the University of General Sciences), formerly the Indochina University and now a campus of the Vietnam National University, Hanoi, is located at 19 Le Thanh Tong (Hoan Kiem District, Hanoi).
The school was founded in 1956, designed by French architect Ernest Hébrard in 1924, and completed in 1927. To this day, the building still retains its classic appearance after nearly 100 years of construction. Today, the building is a facility of Hanoi National University.
Recorded on the morning of November 12, within the framework of the Hanoi Creative Design Festival 2024 (taking place from November 9 to November 17), the University building of Hanoi National University attracted a large number of tourists to line up to visit, experience seminars, talks, exhibitions, tours...
The classical architectural beauty inside and outside the building is still preserved almost intact. On the dome of the building is a cluster of decorative works with chandeliers by architect Le Phuoc Anh, the installation of doctoral stele on mica material inspired by the decorative design project of the Indochina University building by architect Ernest Hebrard. This is also one of the main highlights of the event.
The stairs to the roof floors are very narrow and have a spiral structure. Currently, the organizers of the Hanoi Creative Design Festival 2024 are controlling the number of visitors to avoid overload. Specifically, visitors will visit in groups of 15 people/session.
Tourists enjoy taking photos and checking in at the University building of the Vietnam National University, Hanoi. Anh Thu (student of the Vietnam University of Fine Arts) shared: "I majored in fine arts, so I came here not only to visit but also to learn and gain experience from the world's leading painters and architects and Vietnam in the past. I was very impressed with the dome architecture of the building and the painting "The Flared Dress" by famous artist Victor Tardieu.
In the lecture hall of Nguy Nhu Kon Tum (1st floor), there is a painting called “The Flared Dress” by the famous painter Victor Tardieu. The painting covers an area of 77 square meters and depicts the social scene of Vietnam in the early 20th century with 200 characters appearing in the painting.
Information about French painter Victor Tardieu (April 30, 1870 – June 12, 1937). In 1924, he and Vietnamese painter Nam Son founded the Indochina College of Fine Arts, the predecessor of today's Vietnam University of Fine Arts.
