After round 12 of V.League, SLNA and Thanh Hoa simultaneously sent official dispatches to reflect on controversial situations. The Thanh team requested VFF, VPF and the Referee Board to review the situation in which Geovane kicked Doan Ngoc Tan in the chest but only received a yellow card. In addition, Thanh Hoa Club said that some situations that could have led to penalties should be checked by the referee via VAR.

Meanwhile, SLNA Club assessed that the goal recognized by the main referee and the VAR referee team in the 90+5 minute in the match against Nam Dinh Club left many controversies and negative public opinion about VAR technology being applied in V.League. SLNA requested to review the accuracy of this move.
Mr. Doan commented: " Here, the teams are not just upset or complaining, everyone wants the tournament to be better, more open and transparent. SLNA and Thanh Hoa teams also want to have a dialogue with VPF, VFF, and the Referee Board to get the clearest answer ."
According to this businessman, the referees having direct and public dialogue with the teams will dispel bad rumors on social networks. If the referees do the right thing, that will be the way they can regain the trust of the fans. When the teams are confident in the fairness of the tournament, Vietnamese football in general and V.League in particular will have many conditions to develop.
" Personally, I have had opinions about the management of a few referees, but I do not generalize or accuse them of any problem. Referees are also human and sometimes make inaccurate decisions. Most referees have high professional qualifications and very good moral character.
But on the contrary, there are a few referees who are not up to standard. They make one-sided judgments in a match. Some matches have VAR, but they do not consult VAR in sensitive situations. Sometimes, they ignore errors that can be disadvantageous for one team, while the other team is checked by VAR in obvious situations. That is disrespectful to the audience and a waste of VAR ," said Mr. Doan.
According to the chairman of Thanh Hoa Club, VPF's efforts to apply VAR technology in V.League are commendable. VAR is a modern technology, helping V.League develop more and more and be fairer to all teams. However, VAR referees still cannot avoid mistakes in the beginning.
" For me, the heart is still the most important. VAR technology is clearly important, but the heart of the VAR operator is more important, " Mr. Doan concluded.
