In the 77th minute, the team of Da Nang University of Physical Education and Sports was awarded a penalty when goalkeeper Tan Loi (Ton Duc Thang University team) fouled striker Nguyen Van Chien in the penalty area. On the 11m mark, Huynh Tan Kiet made no mistake, taking a decisive shot to tie the score 3-3 in the last official minute of play (minute 80).
With a 3-3 draw, the two teams had to enter a nerve-wracking penalty shootout to decide the winner. In the penalty shootout, the team from Da Nang University of Sports and Physical Education was more courageous and won 5-4 after 7 kicks.
