Thanh Hoa province has returned to the club of collecting over 50,000 billion VND/year in budget revenue when the state budget revenue in 2024 in the province is estimated at 54,341 billion VND, exceeding 52.8% of the estimate and increasing 25.9% over the same period. This is the figure reported at the regular meeting of the Provincial People's Committee in November 2024.
Not only did it exceed the plan, it was also the highest revenue figure ever achieved by Thanh Hoa province. This figure made Thanh Hoa the leading province in the North Central region and among the top 10 localities with the highest budget revenue in the country in 2024.
Two years ago, Thanh Hoa also achieved a budget revenue of over 50,000 billion VND after many years of continuous growth, bringing Thanh Hoa province to join the Club of provinces and cities with budget revenue of over 50,000 billion VND for the first time.
However, that joy did not last long. In 2023, due to the negative impact of a number of declining revenue sources, Thanh Hoa had to leave this prestigious club.
But then it only took exactly 1 year, with a lot of effort, Thanh Hoa province returned with a higher number. This is a very proud number, a new milestone that the province established.
Compared to many other provinces, it can be said that Thanh Hoa's industrial infrastructure is not as developed, and some production sectors are still facing difficulties. In particular, in 2024, natural disasters devastated many localities in the province, negatively affecting a number of economic sectors, posing a "test" of our capacity and determination, but revenue is still guaranteed, far exceeding the plan.
The budget revenue achieved in 2024 is a vivid manifestation, reflecting the great efforts and endeavors of the province, functional agencies, business community and people in the province. In particular, the tax and customs sectors have had many solutions to manage, nurture and exploit revenue sources, and prevent budget losses.
We are happy with the strong return of the province's budget collection activities. But going through the joy, the problem is that besides the solutions to direct and manage economic development and support businesses of the province, it requires functional sectors and localities to have higher determination, better solutions, and more sustainability, to both nurture revenue sources well, but also not lose revenue. Only then will we not worry about "falling in rank", from there gradually rise up with higher revenue figures.
