Established in 2020, Thanh Nam Tea Cooperative (Thanh Son town, Thanh Son district) has signed a contract to grow safe tea with 80 households in Thanh Son and Tan Son districts, increasing the total tea growing area of the Cooperative to 100 hectares; mainly LDP1 tea, Bat Tien tea, and Oolong tea. Currently, the Cooperative has 16 types of tea products, including two products: high-quality Thanh Nam Shrimp Tea and high-quality Thanh Nam Jasmine Tea, which have been recognized as 3-star OCOP products.
Ms. Duong Thi Duyen - Director of Thanh Nam Tea Cooperative said: In 2023, the Cooperative opened two stores to introduce and sell OCOP products in Thanh Son district and promoted the introduction of products on e-commerce trading floors, promoted and sold on social networks such as Facebook, Zalo... Currently, the Cooperative's products have been exported to Saudi Arabia and are sold in a system of stores and supermarkets in and outside the province. The Cooperative's tea varieties are very diverse, serving the needs of many customer segments, with products priced from 300,000 - 1.5 million VND/kg.
Sales on social networking platforms are invested in thoroughly and systematically to attract customers.
After 3 years of operation, VNS Phu Tho Bamboo Cooperative (Dong Luong Commune, Cam Khe District) has now expanded its investment in a factory with an area of 500m2 with modern machinery and equipment. Each month, the Cooperative has purchased about 20,000 - 30,000 bamboo trees from all over the province and outside. Products made from bamboo such as: Knives, spoons, forks, straws, household appliances, trays, teapots, cups, mugs, tea boxes, tables and chairs... are loved and trusted by people. In 2022 and 2023, the Cooperative was recognized for its product group (knives, spoons, forks, bamboo straws) to achieve 4-star OCOP product certification and its product group (trays, teapots, cups, mugs, bamboo tea boxes) to achieve 3-star OCOP product certification.
The Provincial Cooperative Union coordinated to organize training to improve trade promotion skills, apply social networking platforms in promoting, introducing and consuming products for cooperatives in ethnic minority and mountainous areas of Phu Tho province.
Mr. Nguyen Duc Vuong - Director of VNS Phu Tho Bamboo Cooperative affirmed: To develop sustainably, in addition to traditional sales, participating in exhibitions, connecting product consumption in the locality and neighboring provinces; VNS Phu Tho Bamboo Cooperative also set up a website, registered to sell products through e-commerce platforms, social networks to introduce, promote, and sell bamboo products to the market. Up to now, the cooperative's products have been consumed nationwide and exported to a number of countries such as: Korea, India, Japan, France, America...
In addition to maintaining the effectiveness of websites, businesses and cooperatives have maximized the utility of social networking sites to post articles, advertise product images, post videos, livestream to introduce products and goods of the business to gain interaction, thereby continuing to receive orders from customers. This also helps consumers, although not directly coming to the store, still grasp and update full information and images of the quantity and quality of the product, thereby stimulating consumption.
Comrade Le Thi Hai Yen - Vice President of the Provincial Cooperative Union said: In 2024, with the theme "For the sustainable development of the collective economy and cooperatives in the province", the Provincial Cooperative Union will support 14 cooperatives to build a quality productivity management system, apply science and technology transfer, and digital transformation. Open training courses on planning, operating and linking production and business development according to the value chain, promoting trade and product consumption for livestock and crop cooperatives in Thanh Son, Tan Son, Yen Lap and Thanh Thuy districts. At the same time, promote propaganda and mobilize cooperatives, cooperative groups and ethnic minority and mountainous communities to apply e-commerce, connect and expand the market for products of ethnic minority and mountainous areas, combine product display, promotion and introduction, thereby creating optimal efficiency in building a strategy to reach consumers.
It can be seen that e-commerce platforms with online consumption methods are an effective direction, helping to increase production value and open up more sustainable outlets for farmers' products.
