Attending the program were representatives of the Provincial Party Committee's Propaganda and Mass Mobilization Department, the Provincial Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee, and representatives of farmers' association members and OCOP subjects of 17 districts, towns, and cities.

The One Commune One Product (OCOP) program has been implemented in Quang Nam since 2018. Mr. Nguyen Xuan Vu - Deputy Director of the Department of Agriculture and Environment said that in recent years, Quang Nam's levels, sectors and localities have strongly participated, made timely and appropriate decisions, organized many promotion programs, and oriented the development of OCOP products.

Thereby, helping OCOP subjects boldly invest in machinery and production lines to improve product quality and design, promote promotion... Thereby contributing to the success of the program, helping Quang Nam OCOP products reach not only domestically but also internationally.

With the role of "sponsor" of the Farmers' Association, Ms. Le Thi Minh Tam - President of the Provincial Farmers' Association said that over the years, Farmers' Associations at all levels have always proactively accompanied farmers, the OCOP subjects.

According to Ms. Tam, in addition to propaganda and mobilization, the association organizes fairs every year to promote and advertise OCOP products. From 2019 to now, the association has organized 5 fairs; with each organization, the scale and revenue have increased and received enthusiastic response from OCOP subjects.

“The OCOP program has made great contributions to the economic development of rural and mountainous areas. Farmers have gradually changed their mindset from agricultural production to agricultural economics. They have learned to get rich from agricultural products, know how to exploit the potential, know how to connect and find markets, create product stories to spread and promote to consumers,” said Ms. Tam.

Sharing with the studio audience, Mr. Pham Ngoc Sinh - Deputy Director of the Department of Science and Technology, Head of the Provincial Creative Startup Support Executive Board said that along with the OCOP program, Quang Nam has also organized many creative startup forums over the years. In particular, the formation of OCOP products to participate in these forums has always been a focus for farmers in the province.

“With the role of connecting and spreading startup ideas from OCOP products, thereby creating opportunities to expand the consumption market for farmers, the Provincial Startup Innovation Support Steering Committee has been implementing many forums and playgrounds for OCOP subjects” - Mr. Sinh shared.

Up to now, 17/17 localities in the province have implemented the OCOP program. After 7 years of implementation, 479 products of 376 entities have been recognized as OCOP products; of which 419 are 3-star products and 60 are 4-star products.

On January 17, 2025, the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development (now the Ministry of Agriculture and Environment) issued a decision approving the results of the evaluation and classification of products under the national OCOP program in 2024 (phase 3). In particular, for the first time, Quang Nam has 2 products that meet the 5-star OCOP standard: Saphraton Health Protection Food (Nam Tra My) and Quy Thu Grilled Rice Cake (Que Son).
