Deploying cultural and sports tasks in 2024

On January 9, the Department of Culture and Sports held a conference to review cultural and sports work in 2023 and deploy tasks for 2024.

In 2023, cultural and sports work achieved many important results. Units in the industry actively and effectively implemented propaganda work, cultural and artistic activities, and sports to celebrate political events and national and local holidays.

The province has organized hundreds of cultural events. High-performance sports achieved many results with 318 medals of all kinds, an increase of 101 medals compared to 2022 and reaching 177% of the 2023 plan. State management of culture and sports received attention, inspection and examination work in the field of culture and sports was strengthened, thereby promptly detecting, reminding and handling negative manifestations and violations in business activities in the field of culture and sports.

In 2024, the culture and sports sector will continue to implement the directives of the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism, the Provincial Party Committee, the People's Council and the People's Committee of Ninh Binh province, and at the same time direct the departments and units under the Department, the Department of Culture and Information, the Center for Culture, Sports and Broadcasting of districts and cities to focus on implementing and excellently completing cultural, family and sports activities to serve the political tasks of the country and locality. Focus on innovating and improving the effectiveness and efficiency of state management of culture and sports. Strengthen coordination between levels, sectors and units in the field of culture and sports to promote the combined strength and community responsibility for the cause of cultural and sports development. Speaking at the conference, Standing Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Tong Quang Thin acknowledged and highly appreciated the results achieved by the province's culture and sports sector in 2023.

He suggested that in 2024, the culture and sports sector should focus on a number of key tasks: Focus on strongly developing cultural movements and activities at the grassroots level; speed up the progress and completion of major cultural projects; focus on building Ninh Binh as a center for organizing regional and international events; further promote physical training and sports, paying attention to comprehensively developing both mass sports and high-performance sports; study and restructure the organization of festival activities to both ensure the promotion and honor of cultural identity, and through cultural activities, promote and attract tourists to Ninh Binh...

In 2023, the culture and sports sector had 37 individuals and 2 collectives awarded extraordinary Certificates of Merit by the Provincial People's Committee and the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism for their outstanding achievements; 9 collectives and 11 individuals were awarded by the Provincial People's Committee and the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism for their excellent completion of tasks; the Department of Culture and Sports was awarded a Certificate of Merit by the Ministry.
