Implementing Project 1 on solving the shortage of residential land, housing, production land, and domestic water under the National Target Program 1719, Phu Yen district (Son La) has focused on implementing tasks and solutions to effectively use project capital to motivate people to develop the economy and escape poverty sustainably.
In 2024, Phu Yen district was allocated 23.8 billion VND to address the shortage of residential land, housing, production land, and domestic water for ethnic minority households. From this resource, the district has effectively implemented Project 1 from the National Target Program 1719.
Accordingly, through the implementation process, the Ethnic Affairs Department of Phu Yen district has coordinated with relevant departments and offices to disseminate and guide communes on contents related to the subjects and support limits for housing, residential land, and production land for poor ethnic minority households; poor Kinh households living in extremely disadvantaged communes, ethnic minority and mountainous areas lacking housing, residential land, and agricultural land. On that basis, a list was made to ensure that the support was implemented publicly, transparently, and to the right subjects. To date, 197 households in 13 communes have been compiled in need of housing support; the District People's Committee has issued a decision to support 173/197 households.
Mr. Le Ngoc Son, Deputy Head of the District Ethnic Affairs Department, informed that Phu Yen district is currently disbursing housing support to 173 households according to the decision of the District People's Committee. In addition, the district also directed specialized agencies to coordinate with communes to promote the dissemination of land laws to the people. At the same time, the annual land use plan is reviewed, updated and supplemented, as a basis for changing land use purposes and allocating land to households that are beneficiaries of the policy.
Effective use of Project 1 capital to address the shortage of residential land, housing, production land, and domestic water has contributed to helping Phu Yen district complete the elimination of temporary houses from the beginning of 2024; increase the rate of households using clean water for daily life to over 90%; many ethnic minority households in the district stabilize production and life, and rise up to escape poverty sustainably.
