Construction during Tet
On February 7 (December 28), the Long Thanh Project Management Board (Vietnam Airports Corporation - ACV) said that the construction site will mobilize about 1,000 workers and over 100 construction machines throughout Tet to ensure project progress.
Long Thanh airport passenger terminal construction site will be under construction throughout Tet.
According to the Project Management Board, engineers and workers who stay on construction during Tet will receive their salaries according to regulations.
The Board also coordinates with contractors to care for and look after workers during Tet. In addition, it organizes spring and Tet activities so that workers still feel warm.
According to ACV, currently at the construction site, items such as traffic roads connecting T1, T2, passenger terminal, runway, taxiway and apron are progressing according to plan. Many items have been completed and are taking shape.
Of which, the passenger terminal has 24 tower cranes operating stably, completed service roads, fences, and completed earthworks at 100%. The contractor is taking advantage of the dry season to speed up the construction of the reinforced concrete body before the rainy season.
At the construction site of contractor Vinaconex, some engineers and workers are still working hard.
Recently, the consortium of contractors constructing the passenger terminal held a day to complete 1 million safe hours and gave Tet gifts to project workers.
At the same time, certificates of merit were awarded to units with outstanding achievements in labor safety work in 2023.
This activity aims to encourage the spirit of workers at the construction site as well as to motivate and care for construction workers during the days before and during Tet.
The consortium of contractors constructing the passenger terminal has completed 1 million safe working hours.
In package 4.6 - runway, taxiway, apron, machinery and workers are also racing to meet the progress during Tet. The volume of excavation reached 800,000m3 and the volume of filling reached 650,000m3.
Mr. Le Van Tien (Commander of Package 4.6) said that after more than 4 months of implementation, the ground foundation of the runway, taxiway, apron, etc. is being constructed at the site.
In addition, many construction teams are deploying drainage systems, K98 drainage pads, and crushed stone aggregate layers.
"This Tet, we mobilized about 40% of the construction workforce to maintain throughout Tet. After Tet, we will pour concrete on a large scale, focusing on curb construction and parking lot construction.
At the same time, speed up the construction of the drainage system before the rainy season, ensuring that the volume increases before the rainy season," said Mr. Tien.
In the runway, taxiway, and parking area category of Long Thanh airport, machinery and human resources are still racing to meet progress even though it is already December 28.
Meanwhile, the traffic route connecting route 1 and route 2 is also being completed day by day. For route 1, the site clearance work has basically been completed, opening the road system to serve the airport construction.
Regarding route 2, although there are still many difficulties in terms of construction site (the handed-over site area is only over 45.04%), ACV has proactively directed the joint venture contractor to mobilize personnel and machinery and equipment to organize many construction teams, carry out cleaning, preparation work, bridge construction, etc.
Contractors prepare materials for construction, speeding up progress during the dry season.
According to ACV, with the goal of maximizing progress in favorable weather conditions when the South enters the 6-month dry season, with a spacious construction site, ACV has directed contractors to focus all their efforts, increase the number of human resources, machinery, and work overtime day and night, starting at 7am and ending at 11pm.
Tet has come to the construction site
As for the Long Thanh Airport Component 2 Project (works serving air traffic management - invested by Vietnam Air Traffic Management Corporation), according to the Project Management Board, this Tet holiday, contractors also mobilized over 60 workers and many machines to serve construction during Tet. Ensuring Tet for workers staying is a concern of the Board and the contractor.
On December 28, many engineers and workers were still constructing the control tower of Long Thanh airport's air traffic control station.
It is known that at this time, the construction management area is also decorated by the Management Board and contractors, bringing apricot flowers and ornamental plants to create an exciting spring atmosphere.
According to Mr. Ngo Tuan Anh, Director of Long Thanh Project Management Board, the construction during Tet is to take advantage of favorable weather to increase the workload at the construction site. Up to now, the progress of the air traffic control tower, radar station, radio wave receiving station, etc. is all on schedule, with some items exceeding the plan.
Spring atmosphere filled the construction site.
The contractor representative - Corporation 36 said that the work on site is being accelerated hour by hour, day by day.
In which, the air traffic control tower is under construction on the 6F floor, the technical building has completed the foundation, the ground floor has also been completed, the ground floor columns and walls are being constructed and the first floor beams will be made.
Contractors and Boards share and encourage workers' spirit during Tet.
It is known that component project 2 is invested by Vietnam Air Traffic Management Corporation, the project started on September 29, 2022 and has a total area of about 70,000m2.
In which, the main project is the air traffic control tower and auxiliary projects with an area of 24,000m2.
The project is designed with the idea of a lotus bud, with colors and architectural structures in harmony with the passenger terminal and surrounding buildings.
