Children and teacher carve watermelons to celebrate Tet
This morning, January 29, the traditional New Year festival took place jubilantly at Thanh Pho Kindergarten (Tran Quoc Thao Street, District 3, Ho Chi Minh City).
In the atmosphere of the December days, preparing to welcome the traditional New Year of Giap Thin 2024, teachers and students of Thanh Pho Kindergarten participated in the folk New Year festival, recreating the traditional New Year with beautiful customs and traditional dishes.
Children learn to wrap Chung cake with a model. Teachers also prepare boiled Chung cake portions so that children can enjoy it right in class at lunch.
Many children are excited to try wrapping a banh chung for the first time.

In the outdoor space of the school yard, on the grass, teachers, preschool children and parents make rice paper, make coconut jam, carve watermelon, wrap banh chung, make happy candy, make clay figurines, make grasshoppers in coconut leaves...
Ms. Mai Yen Hang, Principal of Thanh Pho Kindergarten, said that Lunar New Year 2024 is coming. This week, the school organizes a folk festival, spring art performances, and activities to help children have a fun time at school, while also understanding more about the traditional New Year.

The City Kindergarten under the Department of Education and Training of Ho Chi Minh City has more than 500 children in 17 classrooms, with an area of nearly 10,000 m2 .
