Novruz Bayram is a very important holiday for Azerbaijanis, which dates back to ancient times when people began to cultivate the land and engage in agricultural activities. It is also the time of the Spring Equinox, when the length of day is equal to that of night. Traditionally, “Novruz” means “New Day” – the official holiday falls on Tuesdays in March every year. These are Tuesdays of Earth – Water – Fire – Wind, which are also the four elements that form human life. This year, the festival takes place from March 20-24 in Azerbaijan. |
