A suspicious person sneaked into the match between Germany and Denmark in the round of 16 of Euro 2024. The person was dressed in black, had his face covered and was carrying a black backpack. He was moving on the roof of the Signal Iduna Park stadium. Fearing the presence of a terrorist, the police quickly arrived to monitor the subject. A helicopter was even dispatched to shine a light, keeping the stranger in sight of the police. This almost caused the match to be postponed. Referee Michael Oliver called the captains of the two teams, Ilkay Gundogan and Kasper Schmeichel, to inform them of the situation. But the match continued.

Fortunately, after 53 minutes, the SEK force (the elite force of the German police, similar to the US SWAT) successfully arrested the subject. The police have not yet revealed the identity of the intruder. But according to BILD , this is a 21-year-old man from Osnabruck, Germany. The German police immediately announced: "The police have arrested this man. There is no danger to people around. The authorities cannot provide any information about the identity or motive of this person." This incident is an alarm bell for the security situation at Euro 2024. Previously, riots by extremist fans took place. And in the group stage, many fans ran onto the field, causing matches to be suspended. Euro 2024 still has 13 matches left. Ensuring the safety of players and fans will be a problem that needs to be quickly solved by UEFA and host country Germany.
