From an altitude of more than 3,174m above sea level, surrounded by clouds, Fansipan makes visitors feel like they are lost in a fairyland, not real life.

Fansipan Peak is located in the Sun World Fansipan Legend tourist area in Sa Pa town, Lao Cai province and is about 7 km southwest of Sa Pa. Especially, in late autumn (around October to February of the following year), thousands of clouds like torrential waterfalls pour down on Hoang Lien Son range, filling the valleys, revealing only the sharp, overlapping mountain peaks.
Amidst the scene of clouds embracing the mountains like a waterfall, the image of the great compassionate Amitabha Buddha statue appears and disappears, or the 11-story stupa towering between heaven and earth, making the scene even more mysterious.

Because there is no accommodation service, sleeping on the top to watch the sunrise and hunt for clouds is extremely difficult (due to ensuring health safety factors). In addition, the weather on the top of Fasipan is extremely difficult to predict, so it is mostly luck that you get beautiful pictures.
To successfully hunt clouds, you must be especially patient, staying by the camera tripod for many hours in the cold weather (sometimes below zero), despite the cold and aching hands and feet, the thin air that causes your breathing to be interrupted in short, uneven bursts, just to find a satisfactory moment. Therefore, if you have a history of heart disease, respiratory disease or poor health, you absolutely should not experience this.
