HAGL and Thanh Hoa Club have an exciting match
Both Thanh Hoa Club and HAGL are in a state of "free fall" in V-League 2024 - 2025. While home team Thanh Hoa has not won the last 10 matches in all competitions and has just parted ways with coach Velizar Popov, HAGL has also only won 2 out of the last 10 matches in V-League.
Poor results caused Thanh Hoa Club to drop from first place to fourth, while HAGL fell to 10th place, leading to the risk of having to compete for relegation.

The desire for victory of both sides made the match at Thanh Hoa stadium a fierce tit-for-tat. In the 4th minute, Lucas Ribamar of the home team tried his luck with a left-footed shot from a distance, but the ball went wide. 2 minutes later, Ribamar successfully fought to eliminate Dung Quang Nho, but with the goal wide open, the Thanh Hoa foreign player carelessly shot the ball wide of the goal.
Thanh Hoa FC's attack continued in the 9th minute, when Doan Ngoc Tan chose a smart position to head the ball close to the goal and hit the ground. However, goalkeeper Tran Trung Kien caught the ball.
Immediately after that, HAGL rose up to regain control of the game. Coach Le Quang Trai's students reorganized their formation and pressed the two flanks, which tended to push up, of the home team Thanh Hoa. However, the away team relied heavily on the ability of foreign players like Marciel da Silva and Washington Brandao to cover and maneuver to organize the attack. In the 10th minute, Marciel took advantage of the erratic ball to make a lightning-fast pass, but goalkeeper Nguyen Thanh Thang dived to clear the danger.
The two teams attacked back and forth continuously, but the arrangements were not sharp enough to score, causing the first half to end without any goals being scored.

In the second half, Thanh Hoa FC continued to attack and this time, the result came. In the 52nd minute, Le Van Thang passed the ball accurately for Ribamar to run down and face Trung Kien. Instead of rushing like in the first half, Thanh Hoa's foreign player adjusted his aim more carefully to finish with a tricky low shot, opening the score of the match.

However, just 7 minutes later, HAGL equalized with the author being the player who was just given the opportunity to wear the Vietnamese national team jersey for the first time by coach Kim Sang-sik: Pham Ly Duc.
Also from a chaotic situation in the penalty area, Ly Duc had a beautiful hook shot, sending the ball flying into Thanh Thang's net.
HAGL's comeback was created in the 67th minute. HAGL's cross-field plays were effective, when Tran Bao Toan passed the Thanh Hoa defender and then passed the ball back to Tran Minh Vuong who decisively shot with his left foot, raising the score to 2-1 for the away team.
However, it was unfortunate for HAGL that Le Quang Trai's players could not hold out until the final minutes. In the 90+4 minute, a HAGL defender pressed his back, causing Ribamar to fall in the penalty area. Initially, referee Nguyen Viet Duan did not award a penalty, but after reviewing the slow-motion replay, he decided to award Thanh Hoa FC a penalty.
On the 11m mark, Ribamar defeated goalkeeper Trung Kien, sealing a dramatic 2-2 draw at Thanh Hoa Stadium.
Dropping 2 points against Thanh Hoa, HAGL dropped to 11th place, while the home team is still stuck in 4th place with 26 points, 5 points behind the leading team Nam Dinh.
