On October 9, the Propaganda Department of the Ho Chi Minh City Party Committee held a seminar on "Encouraging learning, promoting talents, building a learning society and learning city in Ho Chi Minh City".
Speaking at the opening ceremony, Chairman of the Ho Chi Minh City Association for Promotion of Education Nguyen Huy Can said that in Ho Chi Minh City, the work of promoting learning, promoting talents, building a learning society and a learning city in recent times has created a combined strength in implementation, creating a widespread influence among the people and the whole society, contributing to the successful implementation of the goals of promoting learning, promoting talents, building a learning society and a learning city according to the policies and orientations of the central ministries and branches and the general development orientation of Ho Chi Minh City.
According to Mr. Can, to effectively implement this work in the context of Ho Chi Minh City being recognized as a member of UNESCO's Global Learning Cities Network, it is necessary to continue to propose solutions to promote implementation from many different perspectives, with more effective and suitable methods.
At the seminar, Chairwoman of the Cu Chi District Association for the Promotion of Education, Le Thi Thuy Trang, shared some ideas on how to build a learning society and promote learning and talent in this district.
By early 2024, the entire district had 71,462 families recognized as learning families, accounting for 63.03% of the total households in the area. "If we want to have a learning society, we cannot ignore the factor of learning families," Ms. Trang shared.
In the context of digital technology globalization, Mr. Tran Nam, Head of Student Affairs Department, University of Social Sciences and Humanities, Ho Chi Minh City National University, said that the widespread application of digital transformation will create a new method of operation in promoting learning and talent.
In addition, strengthen connections with organizations, individuals inside and outside the school, and alumni of the school to call for funding sources for scholarships, support projects for officials, employees and students, join hands to build a fund to encourage learning and talent, effectively contributing to the goal of "improving people's knowledge, training human resources, and nurturing talents".
Concluding the discussion, Mr. Le Hong Son said that in the coming time, it is necessary to further promote the role of Party committees and the political system in leadership, continue to implement Directive No. 11, guiding documents of the Central and the City Party Committee. At the same time, pay attention to promoting learning and talent, building a learning society to meet the requirements of industrialization and modernization, associated with effectively implementing the national digital transformation program.
