In Dong Hoi city, you can find banh beo shops everywhere, usually the shops are very simple, you can enjoy this dish and learn how to make this dish right at the shop.
Banh beo is made from rice flour, which makes the cake chewy, soft, smooth and rich. Even if the cake is thin, it still has a sweet and fragrant taste. After mixing the flour with water, put the mold on the stove and scoop the rice flour mixture into the mold, cook over low heat until the cake is cooked, then remove it.
Quang Binh's banh beo is different from other places because the thin cake is sprinkled with lots of shrimp. Shrimp is made from fresh sea shrimp, boiled and peeled, then crushed, fried in a pan with spices until dry.
After arranging the cake on a plate, sprinkle the shrimp evenly on top, along with a little golden fried pork fat, a few spoons of sweet and salty fish sauce and a few slices of fresh chili to create a special flavor, bringing many interesting emotions to visitors.

Banh loc is a specialty of Hue, but when coming to Quang Binh, it has a new flavor, becoming one of the dishes that tourists cannot help but enjoy. Coming to Quang Binh without trying the banh loc dish here is really missing a part of the trip.
To make a tiny banh loc, the preparation of ingredients is quite elaborate, including tapioca flour, shrimp, pork, wood ear mushrooms, dried onions, scallions and other spices. The shrimp used for banh loc are small shrimp caught in river mouths, with both the rich flavor of the alluvium of the fields and the salty taste of the sea.
Cassava flour, after going through many stages of grinding, filtering and kneading, will create a pure white, fragrant and elastic dough, then thinned into small pieces, then put in each piece a river shrimp, well-braised pork and a few thinly sliced wood ear mushrooms and wrap the cake with banana leaves. The final step is to steam the cake until it turns opaque and transparent.
There are two types of banh loc that you should not miss, which are banh loc la and banh loc tran. The cake is dipped in a sweet and sour fish sauce that is very well mixed, with a spicy taste of chili pepper, both beautiful and rich, a flavor that visitors cannot forget when thinking about Quang Binh.
Oyster Porridge at Oyster Restaurant

The Oyster Restaurant has long been famous for its many dishes made from oysters from the Nhat Le River. The special thing is that, also on this river, oysters from other parts of the river are not as numerous and not as delicious as the oysters in the section passing through this town. Perhaps because this is the intersection, blending of two salty and fresh waters, the oysters here are fatter and sweeter.
Oysters are very nutritious, with 100 grams of oysters containing up to 7 grams of protein, 3 grams of fat and many other vitamins and minerals such as vitamin D, vitamin B12... Because of their high nutritional content, milk oysters bring many benefits every time they are used.
Oysters can be prepared in many different ways, such as rice porridge, stir-fried with onions and rice paper, or sour soup or vegetable soup, depending on preference. Porridge is a favorite dish of many people. Oysters are stir-fried with spices such as onions, chili, pepper and salt to let them soak in. Or fresh oysters are marinated and added to boiling porridge. Eating this way, the oysters will be fatter and sweeter.
