(NLDO) - During the Lunar New Year of the Year of the Snake 2025, Quang Binh's tourism industry had a bumper season, welcoming over 163,000 visitors, a significant increase compared to the previous year.

On February 3rd, the Quang Binh Department of Tourism announced that during the Lunar New Year holiday of the Year of the Snake 2025 (from January 25th to February 2nd), the province welcomed approximately 163,400 visitors, an increase of 10.5% compared to the Lunar New Year of the Year of the Dragon 2024. Of these, domestic tourists accounted for the majority with over 158,600 visits, while international tourists reached nearly 4,800 visits, an increase of 24.1%.
Tourists visiting Quang Binh mainly come from major provinces and cities such as Hanoi , Ho Chi Minh City, Nghe An, Ha Tinh, Quang Tri, Hue, and Da Nang. In particular, the number of international tourists has seen strong growth, with visitors from the UK, Netherlands, USA, Germany, France, China, Canada, South Korea, and other countries.
Ecotourism, spiritual tourism, and historical sites continue to be top choices for visitors. Famous landmarks such as Phong Nha Cave, Thien Duong Cave, the tomb of General Vo Nguyen Giap, Hoang Phuc Pagoda, Than Dinh Mountain, the Temple of the Holy Mother Lieu Hanh, Ho Chi Minh Square, etc., all recorded a high increase in visitor numbers.

In addition, experiential and adventure tourism activities in Phong Nha - Ke Bang also attract a large number of tourists to explore. Accommodation types such as homestays and farmstays in Phong Nha and Dong Hoi City have achieved an occupancy rate of up to 90%.
The atmosphere of welcoming the Lunar New Year in Quang Binh has become more vibrant with a series of special events such as fireworks displays to welcome the new year, the Bài Chòi folk singing festival at Ho Chi Minh Square, the "Dong Hoi Welcomes Spring 2025" art zone, along with many art performances and traditional festivals in various localities.
Transportation infrastructure has also been improved to meet travel demands. Dong Hoi Airport has increased its flight frequency from 4 round-trip flights per day to 7-9 flights per day. The railway sector has also added more trains connecting Dong Hoi with Hanoi and Ho Chi Minh City to better serve tourists.
Tourism businesses in Quang Binh have proactively organized many programs to celebrate the New Year and experience traditional Tet (Lunar New Year), creating beautiful impressions right from the first days of spring.
With a promising start, Quang Binh's tourism industry expects to continue its growth momentum in 2025, affirming its position as a leading attractive destination in Central Vietnam and the whole country.
