(NLDO) - During the Lunar New Year 2025, Quang Binh tourism industry had a bumper season when welcoming more than 163,000 visitors, a sharp increase compared to the previous year.
Tourists come to Quang Binh on the occasion of Lunar New Year 2025
On February 3, the Quang Binh Department of Tourism said that during the Lunar New Year 2025 (from January 25 to February 2), the province welcomed about 163,400 visitors, an increase of 10.5% compared to the Lunar New Year 2024. Of which, domestic visitors accounted for the majority with more than 158,600, while international visitors reached nearly 4,800, an increase of 24.1%.
Tourists to Quang Binh mainly come from major cities and provinces such as Hanoi, Ho Chi Minh City, Nghe An, Ha Tinh, Quang Tri, Hue and Da Nang. In particular, the number of international visitors has grown strongly, with visitors from the UK, the Netherlands, the US, Germany, France, China, Canada, South Korea, etc.
Eco-tourism, spiritual and historical destinations continue to be the top choices of tourists. Famous landmarks such as Phong Nha Cave, Thien Duong Cave, General Vo Nguyen Giap’s Tomb, Hoang Phuc Pagoda, Than Dinh Mountain, Lieu Hanh Holy Mother Temple, Ho Chi Minh Square, etc. all recorded an increase in the number of visitors.

In addition, adventure and experiential tourism activities in Phong Nha - Ke Bang also attract a large number of visitors to explore. Accommodation types such as homestays and farmstays in Phong Nha and Dong Hoi City have achieved room occupancy rates of up to 90%.
The spring atmosphere in Quang Binh becomes more vibrant with a series of special events such as fireworks to welcome the new year, the Bai Choi festival at Ho Chi Minh Square, the "Dong Hoi welcomes Spring 2025" art area, along with many art performances and traditional festivals in the localities.
Transport infrastructure has also been enhanced to meet travel needs. Dong Hoi Airport has increased flight frequency from 4 round trips/day to 7-9 flights/day. The railway industry has also added more trains connecting Dong Hoi with Hanoi and Ho Chi Minh City to better serve tourists.
Tourism businesses in Quang Binh have proactively organized many programs to welcome the New Year and experience traditional Tet, bringing beautiful impressions right from the first days of spring.
