General Director of Samsung Vietnam Complex received the Friendship Medal

On January 25, at the Office of the People's Committee of Bac Ninh province, Mr. Choi Joo Ho - General Director of Samsung Vietnam Complex was awarded the Friendship Medal of the State of Vietnam for his many positive contributions to developing the friendly relations between Vietnam and Korea.

Mr. Choi Joo Ho started working in Vietnam in December 2018 as General Director of Samsung Vietnam Complex, in charge of overall management of six manufacturing plants, a research and development center and a sales branch of Samsung in Vietnam.

He is also Samsung's representative in Vietnam in cooperation with the Government as well as localities.

Mr. Choi Joo Ho is considered to have made a great contribution in promoting the successful construction of Samsung's leading Southeast Asia Research and Development Center in Vietnam, creating a solid foundation to elevate Vietnam's position beyond its role as a global production base to become a strategic research and development base for Samsung globally.

Recently, Samsung Research and Development Center in Vietnam has played an important role in making Vietnamese one of the first 13 languages supported in the AI translation function integrated on Samsung's newly launched Galaxy S24 phone line.

Previously, when the Covid-19 pandemic broke out, Mr. Choi Joo Ho made constant efforts, together with the Vietnamese Government and local agencies, to achieve the goal of 'not allowing production to be interrupted'.

In particular, the coordination with relevant agencies to implement the "Special Entry" policy for more than 7,000 Korean experts to come to Vietnam to support technology transfer for new product manufacturing activities.

In addition, Mr. Choi Joo Ho has also made great contributions to implementing social responsibility activities for the community in Vietnam to nurture future generations of talents as well as promote the competitiveness of Vietnamese industry.

Speaking at the award ceremony, Mr. Choi Joo Ho said: “Representing more than 100,000 Samsung Vietnam employees to receive the Friendship Medal from the President is a great honor for me. Above all, I would like to express my deepest gratitude to the Vietnamese Government for its enthusiastic support in Samsung's journey of continuous development efforts over the past time.

Samsung will always accompany Vietnam to not only become the largest foreign invested export enterprise in Vietnam but also become an enterprise that receives the affection of the Vietnamese people. In addition, Samsung will continue to deploy activities in Vietnam based on the companionship philosophy of Samsung Chairman: "Sharing together, developing together is the path to a better world".
