Prime Minister hopes to have Vietnamese people in the leadership of Samsung Vietnam

On the afternoon of February 12, Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh received Mr. Choi Joo Ho, General Director of Samsung Vietnam and his successor, Mr. Na Ki Hong.

At the meeting, Mr. Choi Joo Ho and Mr. Na Ki Hong said that Samsung is currently the largest foreign direct investor in Vietnam, with a total registered investment capital of 23.2 billion USD. In 2024, revenue and exports will reach 62.5 billion USD and 54.4 billion USD, respectively.

More than 300 Vietnamese enterprises are suppliers for Samsung

Since 2014, there have been 306 enterprises that are Samsung suppliers. The Group has implemented many projects to support hundreds of Vietnamese supporting industry enterprises in business innovation, smart factory development, training consultants, mold experts, etc.

Thanking the Vietnamese Government, and the Prime Minister in particular, for always paying attention and creating favorable conditions for Samsung to invest, produce and do business effectively in Vietnam, Mr. Choi Joo Ho and Mr. Na Ki Hong said that along with investing in traditional fields, in the coming time, Samsung will continue to expand its investment in Vietnam in new fields.

Including the fields of artificial intelligence, semiconductor industry, actively participating in the digital transformation process in Vietnam...

Therefore, the leaders of Samsung Vietnam requested the Prime Minister and ministries and branches to continue to support the group's investment and business activities in Vietnam.

The Prime Minister highly appreciated the efforts, determination and business results of Samsung Group as well as the effective and active support of General Director Choi Joo Ho during his two working terms in Vietnam.

This contributes to the socio-economic development of Vietnam, promoting cooperation and friendship between Vietnam and Korea.

The Prime Minister hopes that in any position, Mr. Choi Joo Ho will continue to contribute to the development of Samsung Vietnam, the development process of Vietnam and foster the Vietnam - Korea relationship.

The Prime Minister congratulated and asked the successor of Samsung Vietnam General Director Na Ki Hong to continue and effectively implement investment strategies and plans in Vietnam.

The goal is to take advantage of opportunities and accompany Vietnam's development, bringing Samsung and Vietnam to develop in the future.

Support to improve business participation in supply chain

On the basis of the comprehensive strategic partnership between the two countries, Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh affirmed that the Vietnamese Government will continue to accompany and create favorable conditions for Samsung to invest and do business sustainably, effectively and successfully in Vietnam.

The spirit of "harmonized benefits, shared risks", "listening and understanding together; sharing vision and action together; working together, enjoying together, winning together and developing together".

Wishing to have Vietnamese people in the leadership of Samsung Vietnam, the Prime Minister asked Samsung Group to support Vietnam in further improving the capacity of domestic enterprises, so that they can participate more effectively in the global production and supply chain; and promote cooperation to make Vietnamese digital technology enterprises become partners in Samsung's ecosystem.

At the same time, Samsung closely coordinates with Vietnamese ministries, branches and agencies to effectively and substantially deploy training centers located at the Vietnam National Innovation Center.

Increase investment and expand R&D centers, support start-ups and innovation activities in Vietnam; continue to maintain the leading position, become a strategic investor, promote the development of supporting industries, chips, semiconductors, promote the development of science and technology, innovation and digital transformation in Vietnam.

He said Vietnam will continue to improve its investment environment, promote three strategic breakthroughs, and strive to achieve at least 8% growth by 2025 and double-digit growth in the coming time. The Prime Minister hopes and believes that Samsung will grow accordingly, entering a new era with Vietnam.
