TPO - Binh Duong province is implementing the construction of the East-West Main Road with an investment capital of nearly 1,200 billion VND connecting to the university village and the new Eastern Bus Station in Ho Chi Minh City. The completion of the project will help people in Binh Duong and Ho Chi Minh City to have more convenient trade.

This is a vital route, connecting Di An City (Binh Duong) to Ho Chi Minh City National University, the new Eastern Bus Station in Ho Chi Minh City. This is also the intersection that helps connect District 9, Thu Duc City (HCMC) to Di An City (Binh Duong).

The road is over 3 km long, passing through 3 areas: Dong Hoa ward, Binh An ward and Binh Thang ward (Di An city). The road is paved with asphalt with 6 lanes, densely populated, many high-rise apartments, and urban areas have been formed on both sides of the road.

The East-West Main Road project has 203 affected cases that must be compensated and resettled. The total land area to be recovered is 106,345m2, Di An City has paid compensation and handed over the entire route. The total capital allocated for the project is 502.2 billion VND.

The East-West main road project is expected to be completed by the end of June 2024, 3 months ahead of schedule.

In addition, the Management Board of the Investment and Construction Project of Di An City (Binh Duong) is implementing the Northeast Ring Road 2 Project - Section from the East-West main axis (the area between Binh Nguyen residential area and Dong An Vocational College) to the border of My Phuoc Tan Van road, with a total investment of 628,793 billion VND.

Di An City (Binh Duong) mostly borders Thu Duc City (HCMC) and part of Dong Nai province, is the location for implementing major traffic infrastructure projects in the Southeast region, with many important traffic routes passing through.

The current traffic connection status between Thu Duc City and Di An City includes a number of inter-regional connection locations such as Provincial Road 43, Song Than intersection, Dao Trinh Nhat Street - An Binh Street, 21 locations directly connecting to the urban area of Ho Chi Minh City National University.

The projects, once put into use, will help expand trade, promote socio-economic development, especially when Di An City has become a type 2 urban area, with the development orientation of services - finance - education - logistics.
