Overview of the welcoming ceremony for the Indonesian President's visit to Vietnam

(Dan Tri) - This morning, January 12, at the Presidential Palace, President Vo Van Thuong chaired the welcoming ceremony for Indonesian President Joko Widodo on a state visit to Vietnam.
The welcoming ceremony for Indonesian President Joko Widodo and his high-ranking delegation took place solemnly at the Presidential Palace, Hanoi. This is the second time President Joko Widodo has visited Vietnam, the previous visit was in September 2018. President Vo Van Thuong and Indonesian President Joko Widodo on the podium of honor to participate in the flag-raising ceremony of Indonesia and Vietnam. President Vo Van Thuong invited Indonesian President Joko Widodo to inspect the honor guard of the Vietnam People's Army. This morning in Hanoi there was light rain, however by 9:30 the weather cleared up and did not affect the main activities of the welcoming ceremony outside the Presidential Palace yard.
Immediately after the welcoming ceremony, President Vo Van Thuong took a photo with Indonesian President Joko Widodo inside the Presidential Palace before entering the talks. Leaders of the two countries and high-ranking delegations entered talks at the Presidential Palace. Vietnam is currently Indonesia's only strategic partner in ASEAN. The two sides regularly exchange high-level delegations, and two-way trade has grown well. In Southeast Asia, Indonesia is currently Vietnam's third largest trading partner and Vietnam is Indonesia's fourth largest trading partner. By the end of November 2023, bilateral trade turnover reached about 12.6 billion USD (exports 4.7 billion USD; imports 7.9 billion USD). The two countries aim to reach a turnover of 15 billion USD in a more balanced direction.
After the talks, President Vo Van Thuong and the President of Indonesia attended and witnessed the signing of many documents between the two countries.
