TIR lens won first prize in the 2023 Science Innovation Competition

As part of the annual activities to celebrate the anniversary of Vietnam Science and Technology Day on May 18 of the Ministry of Science and Technology, from December 2, 2022, VnExpress Newspaper launched the 2023 Science Initiative Contest, creating a playground for those who love science and technology to create solutions and products with valuable applications in life.

At the event, Ms. Bui Thanh Van, Editorial Secretary of VnExpress Newspaper, Head of the Organizing Committee of the Contest, said that this is the second year that VnExpress Newspaper has organized the Science Initiative Contest. The purpose of the program is to find useful scientific and technological applications for life, thereby spreading the love of science and technology to young people, who can be students, teachers or even those working in industrial or agricultural production.

"After a year of organizing, we realized that the passion for science among Vietnamese youth is very large. Through the program, you have a playground to introduce your products. You are guided by the judges to improve your products and apply them to life easily," said Ms. Van.

This year, the program received more attention. 130 applications from all over the country participated, an increase of 20% compared to 2022, with many different fields: agriculture, technology, biomedicine, manufacturing... Many smart ideas surprised the organizers as well as the judges. The quality of the entries demonstrated serious research investment with the ultimate goal of the product being applied to life.

VnExpress hopes that the influence of the scientific innovation contest will be a bridge to help your initiatives meet investment funds and manufacturing companies. From there, the scale of product development and production models will be expanded, reaching the necessary places. In addition, the honor of outstanding initiatives can inspire and motivate research for young scientists across the country.

"With the development of the Science Initiative Competition, I believe that the development of Vietnam's science and technology will be the foundation and driving force for economic and national development," said the Head of the Organizing Committee.
