Award Ceremony of the National Creative Startup Talent Search Competition Techfest Vietnam 2024

Officially launched on May 23, 2023, the Competition has received nearly 500 applications from provinces and cities across the country, nominations from more than 18 innovative startup communities in the technology fields at Techfest 2024 and the Provincial Startup Competition. Accompanying the Competition throughout the Competition are more than 150 experts, partners, investment funds, experienced technology consultants in many industries and fields, more than 25 innovative startup communities in the technology fields at Techfest 2024 and many other accompanying partners.

Speaking at the Final Round of the Competition, Mr. Pham Hong Quat, Director of the Department of Market Development and Science and Technology Enterprises (Ministry of Science and Technology) said: “Today's Final Round has demonstrated the new vitality of young minds, with the aspirational hearts of the young generation of Vietnam. We not only balance between meeting domestic needs but also promoting international integration. This is the playground for Vietnam to demonstrate its capacity in building a creative startup ecosystem.”

Mr. Pham Hong Quat, Director of the Department of Science and Technology Enterprise and Market Development, gave his opinion.

Affirming the pioneering role of the locality in promoting the national innovative startup ecosystem, Mr. Tran Quang Tuan, Director of the Department of Science and Technology of Hai Phong City shared: “In line with the development of the Vietnamese innovative startup ecosystem, Hai Phong City aims to build a dynamic and sustainable innovative startup ecosystem. At the same time, we will promote and create many innovative startups with high-tech products and strong innovation. The city is committed to accompanying startups so that they can reach out and become technology unicorns, contributing to the development of Hai Phong and the whole country”.

After more than 40 days with more than 4 rounds of selection, 40 leading experts and prestigious investment funds devoted their time and effort to screen nearly 500 applications and select the 5 best teams to participate in the National Final Round. From there, the 3 best teams were selected and awarded by the Jury, Advisory Board, and Organizing Committee. The first prize of the competition was awarded to YEAST ERA (YERA), the second and third prize winners were ENFARM and TUBUDD respectively.

Accordingly, YEAST ERA (YERA) won first prize with its solution of protein products from probiotics, combining modern technology and natural ingredients, bringing comprehensive benefits. The Organizing Committee awarded the First Prize to the YEAST ERA (YERA) team.

According to the general assessment of experts and investment funds, the solutions are diverse in the development stage, solving specific problems in many fields: tourism, finance, clean energy, climate, etc. Most of the products in the Top 5 have deep technology, creative solutions, bringing artificial intelligence (AI) closer to the business community. Enterprises also demonstrate confidence, market understanding, technological capacity, and boldness in testing new business models.

The winning teams received prizes with a total value of nearly 16 billion VND in cash and in kind, including benefits for market development, product promotion, brand communication, exhibition display and training.
