In the first months of 2024, Sakurai Company Vietnam in Le Mon Industrial Park, Thanh Hoa city has had many new customers, new export orders to major markets such as Japan, China, USA, Korea... Currently, the company's garment products have been exported to more than 20 countries around the world. In the first quarter of 2024, the company produced nearly 19 million products.

Mr. Kimura Masanori, Assistant Deputy General Director of Sakurai Vietnam Company
Mr. Kimura Masanori, Assistant Deputy General Director of Sakurai Vietnam Company said: " It must be said that the textile and garment industry has faced many difficulties in the past time and there is no other way but to make efforts to improve product quality. Producing environmentally friendly products is a sustainable direction. Currently, our company has secured orders for 12,000 production workers until the end of 2024. We have also expanded and put into operation an additional factory in Hoang Long Industrial Park, Hoang Hoa district to ensure orders for partners".
Previously, Van Loi Garment Company Limited, Nong Cong District only specialized in producing European and American goods, but in the first months of 2024, 100% of the company's goods were exported to Japan. Currently, more than 700 workers of the company produce more than 8,400 shirts and vests every day.

Mr. Nguyen Van Nam, Director of Van Loi Import-Export Garment Company Limited, Thanh Hoa province added: " Each customer has different requirements. Japanese customers have to process a product through on-line inspection, factory inspection 1, factory inspection 2, then through partner inspection 4, so a product on our side goes through 4 inspection stages and 100% of the products must be inspected."
According to the report of the Department of Industry and Trade of Thanh Hoa province, the accumulated export in the first quarter of 2024 is estimated at 1,575.5 million USD, an increase of 60.5% over the same period and equal to 26.3% compared to the annual plan. Notably, in the first quarter, the garment industry exported 91 million 387 thousand products, an increase of 17.8% over the same period; The above figures show that the export of the garment industry in the first 3 months of 2024 has many signs of recovery compared to the same period. That shows that in the context of declining global trade, in addition to traditional markets, many garment export enterprises of the province have flexibly switched to markets with good recovery such as Japan, Korea, ASEAN, or new markets with much room, such as Africa, South America, Eastern Europe, Northern Europe, etc. This is also the promotion strategy of the industry and trade sector and many enterprises of Thanh Hoa province this year.

Mr. Pham Duy Giap, Director of Hau Loc 1 Delta Garment Branch, Thanh Hoa province shared: "In 2024, in addition to some traditional markets such as the US and EU, we are more interested in the Korean and Japanese markets, potential markets with room for development. We set a number of requirements for the development and sales department to continuously seek to fulfill the requirements of partners to expand market share in the Korean market. Although there are still difficulties, in 2024 we boldly set a growth target of 20%".
Mr. Tran Cong Tue, Director of Truong Phat Production Service & Trading Co., Ltd., Thanh Hoa province added: "In 2024, our output is expected to increase by 30-40% and it depends on the number of additional workers recruited. We are building a new factory in Minh Nghia, Nong Cong, with an expected output of 5 million products. By the end of the second quarter, we will recruit 500 workers and by the fourth quarter, we will have full capacity at that factory."

Thanh Hoa currently has more than 300 garment manufacturing enterprises. Although the market in the first months of the year has shown positive signs, there are still many difficulties ahead for export activities, so enterprises must regularly follow market developments and have flexible response solutions to maintain and develop production and business activities. Accompanying enterprises, the Industry and Trade sector is implementing solutions to promote trade promotion activities, supporting enterprises to make good use of tariff incentives from signed trade agreements to exploit and expand export markets.

Nguyen Xuan Thang, Head of Import-Export Management Department, Department of Industry and Trade of Thanh Hoa province
Nguyen Xuan Thang, Head of Import-Export Management Department, Department of Industry and Trade of Thanh Hoa province shared: "The Department of Industry and Trade is the standing agency of the international economic development steering committee, will advise the Provincial People's Committee to reform administrative procedures to create favorable conditions for businesses, promote new generation free trade agreements; support business connections through Vietnam trade offices in other countries and support businesses to develop e-commerce for their units".

It can be seen that, facing many difficulties and challenges, Thanh Hoa garment export enterprises have been quick in retaining old customers, searching and exploiting many new export markets, and stabilizing production and business. This is the premise for Thanh Hoa garment industry to complete the target of producing about 530 million products in 2024.
