Faced with the sudden increase in imported cars, machinery and equipment from China, causing local congestion at Huu Nghi Quan border gate (China), directly affecting customs clearance activities, agencies, units and functional forces of Lang Son province are actively exchanging and negotiating with Chinese agencies to coordinate in implementing solutions to facilitate quick customs clearance procedures, avoiding time and cost increases for businesses.
A representative of the Dong Dang - Lang Son Border Gate Economic Zone Management Board said that after Tet, the demand for imported cars, machinery and equipment from China to serve industrial production and domestic transportation of enterprises increased dramatically. In particular, the item with the highest increase was trucks of all kinds, more than double the normal days. If before Tet, each day at Huu Nghi international border gate there were about 20-30 new cars going through customs clearance, recently it has increased to 60-70 cars/day.

Notably, in recent days, the number of vehicles waiting to be exported at the Huu Nghi Quan border gate (China) has been very large, about 1,000 vehicles with the main items being new cars and machinery, equipment, raw materials and production materials of Vietnamese enterprises.
Faced with the above situation, the Management Board of Dong Dang - Lang Son Border Gate Economic Zone has proactively discussed and agreed with the People's Government of Bang Tuong City (Guangxi, China) to promptly come up with solutions to resolve difficulties and problems arising in import and export activities of goods at the Huu Nghi - Huu Nghi Quan international border gate pair.
After discussion, the two sides agreed to reopen the Ta Phu Son tunnel (China) and regulate and separate traffic for non-cargo vehicles of both sides to move through the area of landmarks 1116-1117 to return to their countries after delivering export goods from March 14.
In addition, the dedicated freight road in the area of landmarks 1119-1120 is only for vehicles carrying import and export goods. The authorities at Huu Nghi - Huu Nghi Quan border gate have been directed to extend the working hours by 2 hours, to 8:00 p.m. (Hanoi) on March 17 and 18 to improve customs clearance efficiency, handle vehicles carrying goods waiting for export, and meet the trading needs of businesses of the two countries, the representative of the Dong Dang - Lang Son Border Gate Economic Zone Management Board added.

Implementing urgent solutions, the authorities of the two countries worked overtime in the evening to clear the traffic congestion at the Huu Nghi - Huu Nghi Quan international border gate pair. In particular, according to statistics from the Management Board of Dong Dang - Lang Son Border Gate Economic Zone, on March 20, the total number of vehicles transporting import and export goods through the border gates in Lang Son reached 1,196 vehicles, of which the number of import vehicles reached 851 vehicles (including 780 cargo vehicles and 71 new vehicles). On March 21, the total number of vehicles clearing customs through Lang Son border gates was 1,284 vehicles, of which 431 vehicles had export goods (313 fruit vehicles, 118 vehicles of other goods), and 853 vehicles had import goods (790 cargo vehicles, 63 new vehicles).
To further facilitate customs clearance of new cars through Huu Nghi international border gate, at present, relevant agencies and units, according to their functions and duties, are continuing to strengthen their work of monitoring the import and export situation; organizing exchanges and talks with corresponding agencies in China to coordinate to facilitate the quick settlement of customs clearance procedures for new Chinese cars imported through Huu Nghi border gate.
