NDO - On March 18, in Hanoi, Minister of Construction Tran Hong Minh had a meeting and worked with comrade Rogelio Polanco Fuentes - Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Cuba to Vietnam.
At the meeting, Ambassador Rogelio Polanco Fuentes congratulated comrade Tran Hong Minh on being entrusted by the Party and State with the important responsibility of Minister of Construction (after merging the Ministry of Construction and the Ministry of Transport), and expressed his joy at the increasingly developing traditional friendship and cooperation between Vietnam and Cuba.
Highly appreciating the effectiveness of Vietnam-Cuba cooperation under the Intergovernmental Committee mechanism, in which the Ministry of Construction is the Standing Agency of the Vietnamese sub-committee and the Minister of Construction plays the role of Co-Chairman of the Vietnam-Cuba Intergovernmental Committee, Ambassador Rogelio Polanco Fuentes hopes that in the coming time, Minister Tran Hong Minh personally and the Ministry of Construction will continue to promote the special traditional friendship and cooperation between the two countries.
Currently, Vietnamese and Cuban enterprises are promoting cooperation and implementing many projects, including DINVAI Construcciones, SACuba (DINVAI Company, under the Cuban Ministry of Construction) operating in Vietnam. Through the Cuban Embassy in Vietnam, DINVAI Company expressed its desire to expand cooperation and participate in projects in the fields of construction and transportation, contributing to strengthening the cooperative relationship between the two sides. The Cuban government is very interested in creating favorable conditions for Vietnamese enterprises to promote cooperation and implement investment projects in Cuba.
The Ambassador expressed his hope that the 42nd Session of the Vietnam-Cuba Intergovernmental Committee taking place in Hanoi will create new momentum to attract Vietnamese businesses to participate in cooperation and investment in Cuba.
Speaking at the meeting, Minister Tran Hong Minh said that the special solidarity and comprehensive cooperation between Vietnam and Cuba have always been nurtured and developed by the Party, State and people of the two countries in all fields. Construction was one of the first cooperation sectors since the two countries established diplomatic relations (December 2, 1960). At that time, Cuba sent engineering teams to help Vietnam build a system of bridges, roads and hospitals. Many projects and routes symbolizing the special solidarity and friendship between Vietnam and Cuba were formed, contributing to creating the foundation for the special cooperative relationship between the two countries.
Sharing the story of President Fidel Castro visiting the Quang Tri battlefield in September 1973, Minister Tran Hong Minh said that more than 50 years have passed, but the image of leader Fidel Castro raising the flag of the National Liberation Front of South Vietnam on Hill 241 is still imprinted in the minds of many generations of Vietnamese people and has become a beautiful symbol of the close brotherly solidarity and loyalty between the two nations.
Currently, Vietnam is promoting socio-economic development, so the demand for resources is very large. Therefore, the Ministry of Construction always creates conditions for international enterprises, including Cuban enterprises and DINVAI Company, to participate in projects based on their capacity and compliance with current Vietnamese laws.
Minister Tran Hong Minh emphasized that the Ministry of Construction, as the Standing Office of the Vietnam Sub-Committee in the Vietnam-Cuba Intergovernmental Committee, will always create favorable conditions to promote economic, trade, investment and scientific and technological cooperation between Vietnam and Cuba, commensurate with the traditional, friendly and solidarity relations between the two Parties, National Assemblies, Governments and peoples of the two countries.
At the end of the working session, Minister Tran Hong Minh and Ambassador Rogelio Polanco Fuentes agreed to strengthen exchanges and cooperation between the Ministry of Construction and the Cuban Embassy in Vietnam, contributing to further deepening the special friendly cooperation between the Parties and people of the two countries.
