On March 18, digital travel platform Agoda announced a list of the most affordable destinations in the region, ideal for spring trips in April and May this year.
The list includes a wide range of attractive options from peaceful beaches to bustling cities at affordable prices. Vietnam's Phong Nha is the top destination in the region with an average room rate of only 715,000 VND/night, suitable for those who love to explore the beauty of nature.

Not only is Phong Nha a regional highlight, it is also the most budget-friendly destination in Vietnam during April and May. This means that Phong Nha has surpassed Da Lat, which is the most budget-friendly destination during the year-end holidays. Following Phong Nha are Tirupati (India) and Hat Yai (Thailand), with average room rates of VND868,000/night and VND1,021,000/night, respectively. These destinations harmoniously combine culture, cuisine and nature, and are chosen by many people for their spring trips.
Mr. Vu Ngoc Lam, Country Director of Agoda Vietnam, said: “April and May are peak tourist seasons in Asia because of the continuous festivals such as Golden Week in Japan or the Songkran Festival in Thailand, tourists everywhere are looking for worthwhile trips. The April and May Best Budget Destinations ranking is based on average room rates in 20 of the most popular destinations across nine Asian countries, providing a snapshot of budget options.

1. Phong Nha, Vietnam (Average room rate: 715,000 VND)
