To improve the quality of electricity supply for residents in mountainous areas and ensure that people enjoy electricity prices according to State regulations, Quang Tri Electricity Company (PC Quang Tri) coordinated with Dakrong district to receive and invest in upgrading the low-voltage grid and sell electricity directly to people in Ly Ton and Pa Hy villages, Ta Long commune, Dakrong district.

Ly Ton and Pa Hy villages have 391 households located in the most difficult areas of Ta Long commune. For a long time, households have not had electricity or are using electricity provided by Dakrong 3 Hydropower Company. However, the power grid infrastructure is not guaranteed, causing difficulties for people in their daily life and production.
Vice Chairwoman of Ta Long Commune People's Committee Ho Thi Hoa said that people's use of electricity still has many shortcomings due to the long power lines (from the power plant to households). At points 25 in Pa Hy village and point 27 in Ly Ton village, there are power lines across the river, especially in the rainy season when the power lines are submerged in the lake water, posing a risk of electrical fire.
In addition, the electricity price is also higher than the price regulated by the State, the local government has made recommendations but there is still no change. Therefore, when receiving information that the electricity industry is accepting, renovating and upgrading the grid infrastructure to sell electricity directly to the people, the local government has conducted propaganda to mobilize people to actively respond, especially in the work of site clearance.
Even on Saturdays, Sundays or holidays, local authorities are always ready to join the electricity industry to directly resolve site clearance issues to help construction units implement on schedule, meeting people's expectations.
After receiving the current status of the power grid in Ly Ton and Pa Hy villages, PC Quang Tri assigned Dakrong Electricity to conduct a survey and develop an investment and upgrade plan.
Accordingly, the power grid system in the two villages was invested and upgraded, including the construction of two transformer stations with a total capacity of 150 kAV, 3,165m of low-voltage lines (invested by the Dakrong District Land Fund and Industrial Cluster Development Project Management Board); installation of 51 meters for customers and support for workers to connect lines after the meters to each customer's household in the two villages of Ly Ton and Pa Hy.
For the line after the customer's meter, the electricity industry supports pulling the wire from the customer's house to the low-voltage pole. After installing the metering system, Dakrong Electricity supports connecting the wire after the customer's meter to the metering system as well as supporting the installation of sockets and switches for household electricity use for people.
We followed the technical workers of Dakrong Electricity to install new equipment such as meters, sockets, and power lines for the family of Mr. Ho Van Cum in Pa Hy village. With a radiant face, Mr. Cum quickly helped the electricity workers and said: “My family has 6 people, and has been using electricity since 2010. Because the electrical equipment we bought and used for a long time often breaks down.
On the other hand, the power supply is also unstable, so power outages often occur. When using devices such as electric fans, saws, and welding machines, "electrical jumps" often occur, so electricity can only be used for lighting and cannot be used for other tasks.
For a long time, we have been buying electricity at 2,500 VND/kilowatt hour, paying an average of 300,000 VND per month for electricity. Even though we know that the electricity price of private companies is higher than the price regulated by the State and we have made many requests, we have not received any price reduction.
Now, with the investment from the electricity industry, we are very excited about upgrading our household electrical equipment. After having a stable power source and reasonable price, my family plans to buy a water pump to proactively source water for daily use and buy rice milling machines to create jobs, increase income, and improve the economic life of the family."
Director of Dakrong Electricity Mai Phuong said that, implementing the policy of receiving and investing in upgrading the power grid infrastructure to put into operation, selling electricity directly to people in Ly Ton and Pa Hy villages, Dakrong Electricity has focused on removing difficulties in site clearance, actively mobilizing people to support the policy and building a scientific investment plan.
Determining that the construction is in a difficult area, we have fully prepared labor protection equipment and fully complied with safety measures before, during and after construction.
Therefore, the reception, investment, renovation and upgrading of the electricity infrastructure in the two villages of Ly Ton and Pa Hy were completed on schedule, meeting the expectations of the local government and the expectations and support of the people.
From now on, customers in Ly Ton and Pa Hy villages can use the new power grid managed by Dakrong Electricity, with stable power supply, meeting daily living needs as well as economic development, improving people's lives.
