Tien Phong Marathon 2025 promises to bring dramatic competitions, especially in the women's marathon. If in previous years, the competition often revolved around two familiar names, Hoang Thi Ngoc Hoa and Le Thi Tuyet, this year, the appearance of formidable factors such as Bui Thi Thu Ha and Pham Huynh Yen Thu could make the situation more unpredictable than ever.

Hoang Thi Ngoc Hoa - A potential candidate
Hoang Thi Ngoc Hoa, the reigning women's marathon champion, continues to be the top contender for the title. Her time of 2 hours 44 minutes 52 seconds at the 2024 Hong Kong Marathon was the national women's marathon record, before Nguyen Thi Oanh set a new milestone with a time of 2 hours 44 minutes 20 seconds at the 2024 Hanoi International Marathon.
With three wins at Tien Phong Marathon (2020, 2022, 2024) and one runner-up (2023), Ngoc Hoa has the experience and courage to maintain her position. To prepare for the tournament in Quang Tri, Hoa has had a thorough training process with the goal of defending her championship title. Her perseverance, stability and reasonable competition tactics make her the biggest challenge for all opponents on the 42km race this year.

Le Thi Tuyet - A formidable opponent
Le Thi Tuyet, the champion of Tien Phong Marathon 2023, is not a strange name to the Vietnamese women's marathon. This small but strong-willed girl once caused a stir when she defeated Ngoc Hoa in 2023 to win the championship. Notably, the confrontation between these two athletes at Tien Phong Marathon 2024 is considered by experts to be one of the most exciting matches in the history of the tournament.
Throughout most of the race, Tuyet and Hoa chased each other closely. In the final meters, Ngoc Hoa made a decisive sprint to finish ahead of Tuyet with a time of 2 hours 51 minutes 35 seconds, only 18 seconds ahead of her opponent. Although she finished second, Tuyet still demonstrated her talent and strong competitive spirit. This year, with careful preparation, Tuyet is determined to reclaim the throne.

Bui Thi Thu Ha - A potential mysterious factor
One of the names that could cause a big surprise at Tien Phong Marathon 2025 is Bui Thi Thu Ha. Born in 2003 in Thanh Hoa, Thu Ha's talent was discovered early and she joined the national youth team when she was only 13 years old. Initially, she specialized in short distances such as 5,000m and 10,000m, and has achieved many remarkable achievements such as 2 gold medals in the youth 5km, 1 gold medal in the national 5km at Tien Phong Marathon; 1 bronze medal at the National Athletics Championship; 1 gold medal, 4 silver medals at the national youth tournament.
However, Thu Ha has just switched to marathon with the ambition of winning a place at the 33rd SEA Games, but her achievements have been very impressive: half-marathon champion at VPBank Marathon 2024, Hung Temple marathon champion with a time of 2 hours 59 minutes 06 seconds, along with many high titles at grassroots tournaments such as VnExpress Marathon Hai Phong, Techcombank Hanoi Marathon 2024, VPBank International Marathon 2024... With her youth and strong breakthrough, Thu Ha can become a formidable opponent in this year's race.

Pham Huynh Yen Thu - Interesting unknown
If talking about a promising young face, we cannot ignore Pham Huynh Yen Thu. Born in 2005, Yen Thu is the junior of Le Thi Tuyet and grew up from the Phu Yen athletics team.
Although not yet known to many people, Yen Thu made a strong impression when she ran her first marathon at Tien Phong Marathon 2024 and finished in the top 4 overall with a sub-3 time (2 hours 59 minutes 17 seconds). Previously, she won a bronze medal in the women's 21km event at the 2023 tournament.
With her rapid progress, Yen Thu can definitely create a surprise in this year's tournament. If she continues to maintain her form and reasonable tactics, she has the ability to compete for a high position in the top.
Tien Phong Marathon was established in 1958 and is one of the oldest tournaments in Vietnamese sports. This is not only a playground for professional and amateur athletes but also a place to select outstanding talents for the national team.
This year, the tournament attracted more than 7,000 athletes participating in the 5km, 10km, 21km and 42km distances. Notably, with the results at the tournament being one of the bases for selecting two female marathon slots to attend the 33rd SEA Games in Thailand, the competition promises to be extremely fierce.
