Tien Phong Marathon 2025: Waiting for a fierce competition on the 21km race

In Phu Yen last season, Pham Thi Hong Le finished first with a time of 1 hour 19 minutes 24 seconds. She is expected to have a good chance of winning at Tien Phong Marathon 2025. However, the competition will be fierce as the 21km event brings together 11 athletes, many of whom are rising very strongly.

The first name that can be mentioned is Nguyen Khanh Ly (Da Nang), who won the 10km distance at the tournament also held in Quang Tri last year. Khanh Ly has been trained quite comprehensively, competing in many events. In the 21km distance, Da Nang's goal is to bring Khanh Ly's achievement down to under 1 hour 20 minutes. If reaching the above parameters, Khanh Ly can surpass the championship achievement of her "senior" at Tien Phong Marathon 2024 (Phu Yen).

In addition to Khanh Ly, the reigning champion Pham Thi Hong Le also faced many other opponents, such as Nong Thi Chang or Doan Thu Hang. These were two fierce competitors with Hong Le last season. Only in the final stages of the race did Hong Le surpass her to finish in first place.

According to the Vietnam Athletics Coaching Board, Hong Le is highly regarded not only for her professional qualifications and current form, but also for her experience competing in many major tournaments. Thanks to that, she has the ability to adapt to weather conditions, the track, and withstand pressure when entering the race.

“However, in this year’s tournament, we believe that surprises are entirely possible. If the athletes are not well prepared, it is easy for their opponents to overcome them. Tien Phong Marathon is a prestigious national tournament, so all participating athletes want to achieve good results,” said a member of the coaching board of the Vietnamese athletics team.

Mr. Nguyen Manh Cuong - General Secretary of the Vietnam Athletics Federation, said that because it is a tournament to prepare for the 33rd SEA Games (Thailand), the best athletes in athletics will participate in Tien Phong Marathon 2025. Therefore, the level of competition of the tournament is very high.
