Vo Nguyen Hoang has good physique

Among the 8 U.23 players who were specially selected to train with the Vietnam national team, tall striker Vo Nguyen Hoang also participated. After the first 2 training sessions under the direction of coach Troussier, the striker born in 2002 shared: “I am not on the official list but was still called up to train with the players in the Vietnam national team. This is a great honor for me. Here, I learned a lot from them and always consider them as my destination. I will try my best.”

Nguyen Hoang was once considered one of the most promising young players in Vietnamese football. The striker from Dong Thap has a good physique, standing over 1.80 m tall and with a thick build. This 21-year-old striker is left-footed, has a modern playing style, and is also the type of player that Coach Troussier likes.

Ha Van Phuong is also a U.23 player called up by coach Troussier to practice with the Vietnam national team.

The U.23 Vietnam striker said: “I think the opportunity to compete, both in the Vietnam national team and the U.23 team, will be divided equally among the players. Coach Troussier is a good coach. I have learned a lot from him and will seize every opportunity he gives me to be able to make it to the final list in the upcoming tournament”. When asked about the ideal striker model in Vietnam, the Thanh Hoa Club striker revealed: “I think the Vietnam national team has many good strikers. I am aiming for the role models of Tuan Hai and Tien Linh”.

Nguyen Hoang is a player who grew up at the PVF training center. At the beginning of the 2023-2024 season, Thanh Hoa Club officially recruited the striker born in 2002 from PVF-CAND. Before the V-League was suspended to make way for the FIFA Days in November, the striker from Dong Thap scored, contributing to Thanh Hoa Club's convincing 3-1 win over SLNA. "The last goal was probably the catalyst for me to have more motivation to try harder in the rest of the tournament," said the striker of U.23 Vietnam.

Tran Nam Hai of SLNA was born in 2004.

Besides Nguyen Hoang, 7 young players were called up by coach Troussier to practice with their seniors: goalkeeper Cao Van Binh, midfielder Tran Manh Quynh, Tran Nam Hai (SLNA); defender Nguyen Quang Huy, midfielder Nguyen Thai Quoc Cuong (Ba Ria - Vung Tau Club), midfielder Ha Van Phuong (Hanoi Police Club) and striker Bui Vi Hao (Binh Duong Club).

According to the plan, the Vietnamese team will have 1 week of training before reducing the list to 28 players and moving to the Philippines on the morning of November 13. It is expected that the Vietnamese team will have 3 more training sessions in the Philippines before finalizing the list of 23 players for the match against the host team, taking place at 6:00 p.m. on November 16.
