The three-week exercise in Pohang involved about 400 South Korean and US marines as part of the Republic of Korea Marine Corps and US Marine Corps Joint Exercise Program.
The two sides will mobilize a variety of military equipment and weapons for the exercise, including amphibious assault vehicles, drones, K1A2 tanks, Marineon helicopters and US CH-53E helicopters.
Over the past week, the two sides have conducted shooting and close combat training, and are planning to hold air assault drills using helicopters from both sides.
The South Korean Marine Corps said the exercise focuses on enhancing practical combined operations capabilities while building a strong alliance between the two sides.
“Our continued alliance with the Republic of Korea Marine Corps is vital to regional security and stability,” said US Marine Corps Major General Joshua Burchfield.
