During the meeting, representatives of scientists and astronauts from Kazakhstan, the Russian Federation, India, etc. emphasized the historical significance of the first human flight into space, and shared modern space programs as well as prospects for international cooperation in the space field.

According to Ms. Elena Metelkovskaya, Director of the Fund “The Universe is Us”, a member of the Russian Journalists Association, the participation of astronaut Pham Tuan, who in 1980 became the first representative of Vietnam and Asia to fly into space, emphasized the special importance of this event for the relationship between Vietnam and the former Soviet Union and the Russian Federation today.
