Guardiola's adjustments had not yet taken effect when Man City conceded a second goal. Xavi Simons passed the ball down the left to Openda. Defender Ruben Dias rushed in to intervene but was unsuccessful. The number 17 striker continued to face Ederson and did not miss the opportunity to double the gap.

In the second half, coach Pep Guardiola changed the personnel in attack. Jeremy Doku and Julian Alvarez came on. In the 54th minute, Alvarez made a difference with a pass to Phil Foden in the middle. The English midfielder received the ball and discovered Haaland running down. He passed the ball for the Norwegian player to score.

The goal that reduced the score helped Man City play with excitement. In the 70th minute, Josko Gvardiol assisted Phil Foden to score. Before the end of the match, the English striker contributed to the home team's goal. He passed the ball into the penalty area for Alvarez before the striker finished, defeating goalkeeper Janis Blaswich.
