On the evening of February 1, Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh, Permanent member of the Secretariat - Head of the Central Organizing Committee Truong Thi Mai and many leaders and former leaders of the Party and State attended and awarded prizes to works that won the 8th National Press Award on Party building (Golden Hammer and Sickle Award) in 2023.

Accordingly, the final jury selected 6 A prizes, 12 B prizes, 18 C prizes, 30 consolation prizes and 6 thematic prizes. At the same time, certificates of merit were awarded to 15 collectives with many contributions to the award. At the ceremony, Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh and Standing member of the Secretariat, Head of the Central Organizing Committee Truong Thi Mai awarded A prizes to 6 authors and groups of authors whose works won the prize. Speaking at the ceremony, Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh stated that in 2023, the country achieved important achievements in many fields with many outstanding marks, recognized by the people and highly appreciated by the international community. Accordingly, the macro economy was basically stable, inflation was controlled; economic growth was among the highest in the world. The fight against corruption, negativity, and the fight against manifestations of "self-evolution" and "self-transformation" within the Party were further strengthened. The work of Party building, rectification, political system building, and cadre building has become increasingly more experienced; positive changes have been made, especially the close, harmonious, and effective combination of "building" and "fighting". The Prime Minister emphasized that the results achieved in 2023 and the past half-term of the 13th National Congress have contributed to important and historic achievements in nearly 40 years of renovation, in the revolutionary cause of the Party, people, and nation over the past nearly 95 years, under the glorious flag of the Party.

Affirming the value, attractiveness and spread The Prime Minister pointed out that, through 8 times of organization, the Golden Hammer and Sickle Award has affirmed the value, attractiveness and spread for the work of Party building, building the political system and building the contingent of cadres. At the same time, it affirms the profound political awareness, professional ethics and steadfast revolutionary heart of journalists nationwide, worthy of Uncle Ho's teaching: "Journalists are also revolutionary soldiers". The works participating in the award closely followed the policies and viewpoints on Party building work, vividly reflecting political activities in the Party; especially urgent emerging issues such as building culture - ethics in the Party, fighting against "fear of responsibility"... In addition, the works also proposed solutions to remove difficulties and obstacles, encouraging spirit, arousing aspirations for local and national development. With 72 excellent works awarded, according to the Prime Minister, they are excellent representatives of 2,216 works, converging, crystallizing enthusiasm, intelligence, courage and demonstrating the exploration, creative work with sharp political thinking, professional conscience and social responsibility, with the noble love for the homeland and country of journalists. In the coming time, the Prime Minister hopes and believes that the Golden Hammer and Sickle Award will further promote the achieved results, continue to explore, innovate and create to increasingly spread the strong vitality and positive influence of the award.
