Prepare a strong mindset to enter a new era of national development

On March 17, 2025, the Central Propaganda and Mass Mobilization Commission coordinated with the Ho Chi Minh National Academy of Politics, the Communist Magazine, and the Central Theoretical Council to organize the National Workshop "The Party's theoretical work and important research directions to 2030, with a vision to 2045".

The workshop aims to summarize 10 years of implementing Resolution No. 37-NQ/TW, dated October 9, 2014 of the Politburo (11th tenure) on "Theoretical work and research orientation to 2030"; evaluate the achieved results, draw lessons. On that basis, propose important research orientations to serve the planning and implementation of strategic decisions, bring about revolutionary changes, raise the level of the Party's theoretical work according to the guiding ideology of General Secretary To Lam, meet the requirements of national construction, development and defense in the new era, the era of the Vietnamese people's rise.

Co-chairing the workshop were: Politburo member, Party Central Committee Secretary, Head of the Central Propaganda and Mass Mobilization Commission Nguyen Trong Nghia; Politburo member, Director of the Ho Chi Minh National Academy of Politics, Chairman of the Central Theoretical Council Nguyen Xuan Thang; Permanent Deputy Head of the Central Propaganda and Mass Mobilization Commission Lai Xuan Mon; Editor-in-Chief of the Communist Magazine Hoang Trung Dung; Permanent Deputy Chairman of the Central Theoretical Council Ta Ngoc Tan.

Speaking at the Workshop, Politburo member and Permanent Secretary of the Secretariat Tran Cam Tu highly appreciated the significance and importance of the Workshop in the context of the entire Party, the entire political system and the people of the whole country excitedly celebrating the 95th anniversary of our Party; striving to achieve the socio-economic goals of 2025, striving to successfully complete the Resolution of the 13th National Congress of Delegates, preparing for Party Congresses at all levels, towards the 14th National Congress of the Party. Preparing a solid mindset to enter a new era of national development.

The Standing Committee of the Secretariat emphasized that theoretical work plays a very important role in the revolutionary cause of the Party and the nation. During his lifetime, President Ho Chi Minh attached great importance to theoretical work. He repeatedly emphasized the instruction of the international communist leader Lenin: Without revolutionary theory, there is no revolution. Only by following revolutionary theory can the revolutionary Party fulfill its pioneering revolutionary responsibility. He affirmed: Theory enlightens the masses, teaches them how to organize and mobilize them to fight correctly. With theory to guide the way, the masses can act correctly and develop their talents. Correct practice is guided by a correct scientific theory. Otherwise, practice will lose direction and grope in the dark. And he also reminded: Practice without theory to guide it is blind practice.

The revolutionary history of our nation over the past 95 years under the leadership of the Party has proven and affirmed the correct theoretical thinking of the Party's revolutionary line. Especially the policies and decisions over 40 years of national renovation. Practice also shows that important creative developments in the Party's theoretical awareness of national independence associated with socialism on socialism and the model of socialism in Vietnam on the path to socialism, the goals, characteristics, directions, and major relationships that need to be resolved.

From there, Mr. Tu requested constant innovation, continuing to improve the Party's thinking, intelligence, and mettle; having new ways of doing things, making breakthroughs in theoretical awareness, constantly developing and perfecting the theoretical system, to build strategic decisions, arouse and strongly promote the strength, spirit and will of the Vietnamese people and the Vietnamese nation, to accelerate and make breakthroughs in the work of building, protecting and developing the country quickly and sustainably.

Based on the orientation and suggestions for major tasks and research contents of theoretical work in the coming time, Mr. Tu hopes that scientists and experts attending the Workshop will have a high sense of responsibility and enthusiasm, focus on discussing, exchanging, and carefully evaluating theoretical issues raised in the new context; as a basis for filtering, building and advising on scientific arguments, serving the work of building and planning the Party's policies, contributing to supplementing and clarifying in the process of building documents to be submitted to the 14th National Party Congress.

Speaking at the workshop, Mr. Nguyen Xuan Thang, Politburo member, Director of the Ho Chi Minh National Academy of Politics, Chairman of the Central Theoretical Council emphasized: Looking back at 40 years of carrying out the renovation process, including more than 20 years of implementing Resolution No. 01-NQ/TW in 1992 of the 7th Politburo and especially after more than 10 years of implementing Resolution No. 37-NQ/TW in 2014 of the 11th Politburo, the Party's theoretical work has promoted the intelligence of the entire Party, the entire people, and the entire army, building a unique Vietnamese theory, serving as the basis for the Party's extremely important policies and decisions in the process of renovation, integration and national development.

Mr. Thang affirmed that the Party's theoretical work has achieved many outstanding achievements, contributing to supplementing and basically perfecting the theoretical system on socialism and the path to socialism in Vietnam in the new period, clearly demonstrated in the Vietnamese socialist model.
