Promoting the strength of solidarity and unity between the Party's will and the people's will

Delivering a speech commemorating the 95th anniversary of the founding of the Da Nang Party Committee and the 50th anniversary of the city's Liberation Day, Party Central Committee member and Secretary of the Da Nang City Party Committee Nguyen Van Quang emphasized that in the history of national construction, defense and development, Da Nang has always held an important position due to its geopolitical and geo-economic position, cultural factors and the people of Quang Nam. The first Communist Party cell of Da Nang was established in Thanh Khe village on March 28, 1930, just over a month after the founding of the Communist Party of Vietnam (February 3, 1930). Since the establishment of the Party, under the leadership of the Party Central Committee and the Da Nang Party Committee, the army and people of Da Nang have been united, unanimous, and have upheld their indomitable will, achieving resounding feats of arms, contributing to the glorious victory in the two resistance wars against the French colonialists and the invading American imperialists.

The glorious victory of liberating Da Nang was a "decisive attack" that collapsed the strategy of the puppet army and puppet government in the South Central region, contributing significantly to the great victory of the historic Ho Chi Minh Campaign, liberating the South and unifying the country. Therefore, the Liberation Day of Da Nang City on March 29, 1975 was recorded in history as a brilliant milestone, a shining symbol of revolutionary heroism; demonstrating the intelligence and bravery of the Vietnamese people in general, and the people of Da Nang in particular, and the crystallization of the best values ​​of the heroic Vietnamese nation.

In recent times, the city has been proactive with high determination and great efforts in proposing, advising and having the Central Government issue many specific mechanisms and policies as a foundation and driving force for the sustainable and long-term development of the city. At the ceremony, Secretary of the Da Nang City Party Committee Nguyen Van Quang called on the Party committees, authorities, cadres, soldiers and people of the city to promote the revolutionary historical tradition and achievements, with the aspiration to rise up with the whole country, to form a unified bloc, join hands, join forces, bring all efforts, enthusiasm, talent and intelligence, strive to overcome all difficulties and challenges, firmly step into the new era - the era of national strength, determined to successfully complete the goals set by the 22nd City Party Congress and the 13th National Party Congress, make achievements to celebrate major holidays in 2025, welcome party congresses at all levels towards the 14th National Party Congress.

At the ceremony, Lieutenant General Nguyen Thanh Tuan, former Director of the Propaganda Department, General Department of Politics of the Vietnam People's Army, representing the veterans who participated in the liberation of the city, recalled the process of fighting for independence and freedom for the nation, not afraid of hardships and sacrifices to protect the Fatherland. He affirmed that the veterans always remind and encourage each other to promote the tradition of Uncle Ho's soldiers, take the lead in implementing and educating their children and the younger generation to strictly follow the Party's guidelines and policies, the State's laws and policies, and the local tasks.

Representing the city's young generation, Union member Huynh Nguyen Yen Nhi, University of Economics, University of Da Nang expressed that the young generation of Da Nang wishes to continue the tradition of their ancestors, continue to promote the revolutionary spirit and aspirations of the nation in the new era, contributing to the realization of the great goals set by the Party, State and people.

Speaking at the ceremony, on behalf of the Party and State leaders, General Secretary To Lam warmly commended and congratulated the impressive achievements that the Party Committee, government and people of Da Nang city have achieved over the past period. These results have demonstrated the dynamism, sharp thinking, creative application of theory to specific local conditions; the spirit of self-reliance, self-reliance, daring to think, daring to do, knowing how to do and daring to take responsibility of Party committees, Party organizations and governments at all levels; and are a great lesson in promoting the strength of solidarity, consensus and unity between the Party's will and the people's hearts.

The General Secretary stated that the strategic goals of national development have been posing many new requirements for the cause of innovation and socio-economic development, requiring the Party, the State and the people in general, and Da Nang in particular, to strive more vigorously and resolutely, to strongly arouse national spirit and the aspiration to develop a prosperous and happy country. Da Nang City is facing new opportunities. The Central Government has a lot of attention and expectations with many outstanding policies, mechanisms and incentives, especially the policy of arranging administrative units, expanding space, creating conditions for the city to develop rapidly and sustainably on the basis of science and technology, innovation and digital transformation. The Party Committee, government and people of the city must fully and deeply understand the role, strategic position, importance and responsibility of Da Nang in the Central Coast region and the whole country to strongly arouse the desire for development, the spirit of self-reliance, dynamism, creativity, daring to think and dare to do of cadres and party members, effectively exploit special mechanisms and policies, create new momentum to develop Da Nang to its full potential.

The General Secretary emphasized that Da Nang must become an international trade center, an attractive destination for investors and tourists, a gathering place for talents and creative ideas, where tourism, ecological and cultural resources blend together to create attractiveness and unique identity, so that together with the capital Hanoi, Ho Chi Minh City, Hai Phong City and Hue City, it can be both a driving force for economic development of the whole country and a symbol and pride in overcoming difficulties and obstacles and successfully rising up in Vietnam, a new model of socialism with its own unique characteristics. To do so, Da Nang City must respect, preserve, inherit and promote its cultural and historical values ​​and achievements; absolutely must not be subjective, complacent and also must not be confused or worried about the difficulties and challenges that are arising.

Orienting the tasks in the coming time, the General Secretary suggested that the city must focus on building a streamlined Party Committee and political system that operates effectively, efficiently and friendly; strengthening solidarity and unity within the Party Committee, the entire political system, and consensus among the people. In particular, Da Nang identified the arrangement of the organization of the city's political system to be streamlined, effective and efficient, and the arrangement of administrative units so that government agencies are closer to the people and serve the people better, as an important revolution that needs to be implemented resolutely and urgently. Da Nang must be proactive in its mindset and conditions to ensure timely and effective implementation of the arrangement of administrative units at all levels as soon as there is an official policy from the Central Government, not to be passive, interrupted, or affect the implementation of political tasks, especially in leading, directing, and operating socio-economic development, and handling administrative procedures for people and businesses. Well preparing for the Party Congresses at all levels for the 2025-2030 term is truly a broad political activity within the entire Party and people.

The General Secretary requested that the city needs to systematically and effectively implement the Central's resolutions, policies and orientations on building and developing Da Nang in association with innovation in thinking, strategic vision, and determination to realize development aspirations. Believing that the key to Da Nang's success lies in its ability to awaken human potential, the General Secretary suggested that the city promote its cultural identity, revolutionary tradition, and the qualities of the people of Quang Nam: self-reliance, self-confidence, creativity, and flexibility. In particular, the city needs to encourage the spirit of dedication to the homeland and country, daring to think, daring to do, daring to innovate, acting decisively and taking responsibility for the common good among local leaders, cadres, civil servants, and public employees; using local development achievements and the trust of people and businesses as measures to evaluate cadres and work efficiency. The city needs to focus on developing high-quality human resources, especially attracting experts in the fields of technology, finance, and training highly skilled workers to meet the needs of the market and investors; considering this the most powerful weapon to change and develop Da Nang in the digital age and innovation.

Along with economic development, the General Secretary emphasized that the Party Committee and the city government must pay special attention to developing Da Nang's culture and people; in development investment, it is necessary to ensure sustainability in terms of nature, build an environmental city; continue to well implement social security policies, care for people's lives associated with programs that are deeply humane and unique to the city; maintain political security, social order and safety; build a solid national defense posture, a people's security posture, and a strong people's heart posture.
