On the morning of February 2 (the 5th day of Tet), Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh came to encourage and give Tet gifts to cadres and workers at the construction site and inspected, urged and promoted the progress of the Dong Dang (Lang Son) - Tra Linh (Cao Bang) expressway project.
Also inspecting the Dong Dang - Tra Linh expressway with the Prime Minister were Deputy Prime Minister Tran Hong Ha, Minister of Transport Tran Hong Minh, Minister of Planning and Investment Nguyen Chi Dung, and leaders of ministries, branches, and localities.
Previously, on the evening of February 1, right after finishing the inspection program of key projects in the Southeast region, the Prime Minister and the working delegation flew to Hanoi and traveled to Lang Son that night.
Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh kindly visited, encouraged and sent his best New Year wishes to the officers and workers working at the construction site.
Praising the team of workers who have silently devoted themselves to staying at the construction site during the Tet holidays, the Prime Minister shared that in 2025, the North-South Expressway will be open to traffic, connecting the North and the South. Therefore, in recent times, the competitive atmosphere at construction sites has been very busy and urgent to ensure progress and bring the project to the finish line on time.
The Prime Minister requested Deo Ca contractor to mobilize more local contractors to work together, creating conditions for local contractors to grow and develop.
The Prime Minister emphasized that Deo Ca Group has a lot of experience in investing in highway construction in many places, but construction in Cao Bang will be more difficult because of the harsher terrain and weather.
Therefore, it is necessary to increase the application of science and technology in construction to improve labor productivity, ensure progress and quality, labor safety, environmental sanitation, and learn from experience while working.
The Dong Dang - Tra Linh Expressway project has a total length of 121km, divided into 2 investment phases with a total investment of more than 47,000 billion VND.
Phase 1, Dong Dang - Tra Linh Expressway is invested with a length of more than 93km. The starting point is at Tan Thanh border gate intersection (Van Lang district, Lang Son province). The end point is at National Highway 3 intersection (Chi Thao commune, Quang Hoa district, Cao Bang province). The total investment is 14,114 billion VND, of which the state budget capital accounts for 69.43%, equivalent to 9,800 billion VND.
Once completed, the expressway will shorten travel time from Cao Bang to Hanoi and vice versa from 6-7 hours to about 3.5 hours.
The project is implemented by a consortium of investors led by Deo Ca Group.
The project started on January 11, 2024. According to schedule, the project will be completed in 2026 but is striving to open to traffic in 2025.
According to the report, up to now, the land has been basically handed over for the entire route of 93.14 km / 93.35 km, reaching 99.8% of the route length. Localities and agencies are implementing procedures to build 6 resettlement areas and relocate technical infrastructure (22 high-voltage power line locations), the progress basically meets the requirements.
Phase 2 of the project will include expanding the existing 93.35km route with a total investment of VND3,839 billion and building a new 27.71km route connecting Tra Linh border gate with a total investment of VND5,107 billion.
