This is an activity within the framework of the Vietnam - Singapore Young Leaders Dialogue Program in 2023. The program is jointly organized by the Vietnam National Youth Committee and the Singapore National Youth Council in both countries with the aim of promoting solidarity and cultural exchange between young leaders of the two countries; enhancing understanding, roles, and sharing experiences of young leaders in digital transformation.
At the meeting and dialogue, young leaders of Vietnam and Singapore reported to the two Prime Ministers the results that the delegations of the two countries had discussed and built after going through learning journeys on digital transformation in both Vietnam and Singapore; expressed their joy at the development in the relationship between the two countries; and hoped that Vietnam and Singapore would upgrade their relationship to a new level. In particular, the youth delegates hoped that the leaders of the two countries would continue to support and create conditions for the youth to promote their roles, realize their aspirations and ambitions for the development of each country and in promoting the Vietnam - Singapore Strategic Partnership.

Singaporean Prime Minister Lee Hsien Loong expressed his joy at the enthusiasm, excitement and aspirations of the young generations of the two countries; he said that the youth are an important resource, the future of each country. Happy to feel “young again” when meeting and talking with students, youth, and young leaders, Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh said that after 50 years of establishing diplomatic relations, Vietnam-Singapore relations are developing very well in all fields.
Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh suggested that delegates strengthen connections, exchange ideas, promote good values in the relationship between the two countries; promote cooperation in new areas such as digital transformation, green transformation, circular economy, knowledge economy, sharing economy, innovation, etc.; strongly promote the traditions of the two countries through the process of rising up, fighting for national independence and developing the country in difficult conditions; at the same time, exchange and discuss frankly on issues with different viewpoints to reach consensus.
Reiterating President Ho Chi Minh’s words “The prosperity or decline, weakness or strength of a country depends largely on the youth” and “Where there is a need, there is youth, where there is difficulty, there is youth”, the Prime Minister said that the voice and contribution of youth are extremely important to the sustainable development of each country and region; therefore, it is important to not only do a good job of connecting the youth of the two countries but also connect with the youth of other countries.
According to the Prime Minister, the world today is more favorable, with new tools for easier communication and learning, but there are also difficulties and challenges. The problem is that we detect and identify problems early to adapt flexibly and effectively; the youth must be steadfast, steadfast, and dare to take on difficult and big tasks.
The Head of the Vietnamese Government emphasized that the task of the youth of the two countries in the current period is to promote their pioneering and pioneering roles, paving the way for the two countries to develop rapidly and sustainably, contributing positively to the Vietnam - Singapore strategic partnership; for peace, stability, cooperation and development in the region and the world. First of all, it is to promote their pioneering role in studying, improving the knowledge and skills necessary to adapt to and master the future of the era of the 4th industrial revolution.
Highlighting Prime Minister Lee Hsien Loong's outstanding achievements in learning and education and recalling the words of the late Prime Minister Lee Kuan Yew: "If you win in the race for education, you will win in economic development", Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh suggested that the youth of the two countries take the lead in demonstrating their responsibility to society and the community; building and maintaining the "youth flame", the "youth soul" of the desire to contribute, thinking, thinking, ambition, striving not only for themselves but also to create benefits for society and the community, in the spirit of "leaving no one behind".
The Prime Minister hopes that today's young generation will think more carefully, be more determined, make greater efforts, act more decisively, choose more important and central tasks, and complete each task thoroughly; making the youth and people of the two countries increasingly understand each other, unite to build two strong and prosperous countries, the people increasingly happy and prosperous, and contribute to deepening the Vietnam - Singapore Strategic Partnership, becoming more substantial and effective.
