On the evening of October 30, local time, right after arriving in the capital Doha on an official visit to the State of Qatar, Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh and his wife met with officials and staff of the Embassy and the Vietnamese community in Qatar. Also in attendance were Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs Bui Thanh Son and members of the working delegation.

Reporting to the Prime Minister, his wife and the delegation, Vietnamese Ambassador to Qatar Nguyen Huy Hiep said that the Vietnamese community in Qatar, with about 450 people, mainly works in the fields of construction, oil and gas, study, research, business, and some work in the Qatari prosecution agency. Of these, more than 300 people are engineers in oil and gas enterprises in Qatar. The Vietnamese community in Qatar is not large, but they are always united, comply with local laws; work hard, study, and work; always preserve and promote the spirit of national confidence; promote the image and cultural values of the nation in the host country; especially always turn to their homeland, contributing their intelligence, spirit, and material to build their homeland more and more prosperous.
Over the years, the Vietnamese Embassy in Qatar has always strived to carry out all aspects of its work well, contributing to the development of the Vietnam-Qatar relationship; promoting the image of the country and people of Vietnam in Qatar. Along with that, the Embassy has also done a good job of protecting citizens, resolving and supporting the Vietnamese community in Qatar, especially in difficult times such as epidemics...

Expressing their joy at the country's remarkable development and the attention of the Party and State leaders to the Vietnamese community abroad in general and in Qatar in particular, representatives of the Vietnamese community in Qatar asked the Prime Minister to have more say so that the Qatari government continues to create more favorable conditions for the Vietnamese community in Qatar to work and live; the two sides have an agreement on labor cooperation; negotiate for Qatar to grant more scholarships to Vietnamese students; have a more open visa policy, creating conditions for people-to-people exchange and more favorable tourism. In particular, they requested support to open Vietnamese language classes for children of Vietnamese people in Qatar; when workers in Qatar return home, they are given favorable conditions for employment at agencies and enterprises in Vietnam...
Speaking at the meeting, expressing his warm greetings and sending his affection from the homeland to the staff of the Embassy and representatives of the Vietnamese community in Qatar, Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh expressed his emotion at the sentiments and sincerity of the people and thanked them for their many activities towards their homeland; and congratulated them on the achievements that the people and the community have achieved in recent times.
The Prime Minister said that the Party and State consider the overseas Vietnamese community an inseparable part of the Vietnamese ethnic community; always taking care of the people regardless of whether they are Vietnamese at home or abroad; because our Party and State have no higher goal than bringing an increasingly happy and prosperous life to the people.

The Prime Minister shared the difficulties that the Vietnamese people have experienced, especially during the pandemic and the impact of conflicts and fluctuations in the region; and was happy that the Vietnamese community has overcome difficulties with self-reliance, self-reliance and solidarity.
The Prime Minister said that through meetings with leaders of countries in the Middle East, the leaders of these countries all have innovative thinking, strategic vision, decisive actions, clear work, value time and intelligence, and all want to strengthen relations with Vietnam. The Prime Minister hopes that the people will learn, adapt, integrate into the local community and work with peace of mind.
The Prime Minister said that the relationship between Vietnam and Qatar in particular and the Middle Eastern countries in general has developed well, but economic relations are still limited and not commensurate with the political and diplomatic relations, potential and aspirations of the people. Therefore, during this working trip, the Prime Minister and the leaders of the countries will discuss promoting economic cooperation, in the spirit of "what is said must be done, what is committed must be implemented".
Informing that the Vietnamese community abroad has about 6 million people, in about 130 countries, Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh hopes that people will continue to unite, comply with local laws; work hard, study, and work; always preserve and promote national cultural values; especially mobilize, help, find jobs, look for scholarships, and investment opportunities to send brothers and friends to study, research, and live long-term in the host country.
Affirming that the Party and State always protect the legitimate rights and interests of the people, the Prime Minister requested the Embassy to always pay attention to and strengthen its connection with the people, so that the Embassy and the community can become reliable supports when the people encounter difficulties and hardships, "help each other in times of need", "help each other in times of need", and people help each other in all situations.
Appreciating the activities of the Vietnamese Liaison Committee in Qatar, responding to requests from the Vietnamese community in Qatar, the Prime Minister directed the Ministry of Labor, War Invalids and Social Affairs to continue to have appropriate and effective solutions and models for managing overseas workers to promptly grasp and resolve difficulties, problems and concerns of the people; relevant agencies negotiate with the host country to have a more open and suitable visa policy; agencies research the reception of Vietnamese workers returning home with skills, expertise and experience with clear regulations and standards...
