Speaking at the congress of the center-left Social Democratic Party (SPD), Chancellor Scholz stated: "The conflict in Ukraine may not end soon, but it is extremely important that Germany continues to stand in support of Ukraine."

He pledged that the budget crisis would not deter Berlin's support for Kiev amid the conflict. Germany is currently Ukraine's second-largest aid donor after the United States.

Chancellor Scholz's statement came as his coalition government faces major problems in its efforts to find enough budget resources to finance its 2024 spending plans following a landmark ruling by the German Federal Constitutional Court.

In another development, on December 9, Ukrinform reported that according to the Ukrainian Foreign Ministry, Foreign Minister Dmytro Kuleba will visit Brussels on December 11-12 to attend a meeting of the European Union (EU) Foreign Affairs Council.

The Ukrainian Foreign Minister will pay special attention to the European Council's decision on the country's entry into the EU on December 14-15. Another important topic is the mobilization of new military aid for Kiev and the joint production of weapons, ammunition and military equipment with EU partners.

In addition, Mr. Kuleba will also participate in the Eastern Partnership Foreign Ministers' Meeting (including the Foreign Ministers of EU member states and Armenia, Azerbaijan, Georgia, Moldova and Ukraine) with the main topic being activities in 2024 to promote the EU integration of these Eastern European countries.

The program of the Ukrainian Foreign Minister's visit to Brussels also includes participation in the meeting of the GUAM Council of Foreign Ministers, as well as bilateral meetings with Kiev's partners.
