Sacred New Year Flag Salute Ceremony at Dak Lak Border Guard Stations

In the atmosphere of celebrating the Party, celebrating Spring, and celebrating the Lunar New Year of Giap Thin 2024, on February 10 (the first day of Tet), border posts on the Dak Lak border line solemnly held a sovereignty flag-raising ceremony at the beginning of the new year.

At Bo Heng Border Guard Station (located in Krong Na commune, Buon Don district), in the cold weather and the exciting atmosphere of the first day of the new year of Giap Thin 2024, all officers and soldiers gathered to salute the flag. The ceremony was conducted solemnly. Under the red flag with a yellow star, the officers and soldiers sang in unison the national anthem of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam. The emotion and pride were the feelings of Private First Class Pham Van Viet My when he was assigned to read the 10 honorary oaths of soldiers at the ceremony. This was also the first time My celebrated Tet in the unit. Private Pham Van Viet My shared that in 2023, after joining the unit and becoming a soldier in green uniform, learning about the 10 honorary oaths of soldiers in the Vietnam People's Army, My felt very meaningful and honored. He was even more proud when on the first day of the new year, at the border of the Fatherland, My was able to loudly recite the 10 oaths under the red flag with a yellow star. From the feeling of pride, My was determined to complete the assigned tasks well, striving to become a useful person for the country.

As a veteran soldier in the green uniform, having experienced many flag-raising ceremonies at the beginning of the new year at the border post, for Major Y Luong Nie, Deputy Head of the Mass Mobilization Team, Bo Heng Border Post, each year, the emotions are even more special. In the new year of the Year of the Dragon 2024, under the glorious flag of the Fatherland, Major Y Luong Nie is even more deeply aware of his responsibility and obligation to the border, landmarks, territorial sovereignty, and national border security. Major Y Luong Nie told himself that he would actively participate in patrolling, controlling, and protecting the border and landmarks; maintaining and ensuring security and order in the border area. Major Nguyen Van Kieu, Political Commissar of Bo Heng Border Post, said that the flag-raising ceremony is held by the unit on the first Monday of each month to evaluate the results of the past month and deploy tasks for the new month. The flag-raising ceremony at the beginning of the New Year aims to create motivation and new spirit for officers and soldiers to start the new year with increased responsibility and work efficiency, achieving many new achievements. The flag-raising ceremony also contributes to educating and strengthening patriotism and the sense of responsibility of each soldier. At Dak Rue Border Guard Station (located in Ea Bung commune, Ea Sup district), on the first day of the new year, under the statue of Uncle Ho with the Border Guard soldiers, the National Anthem was played majestically. The national flag flying on the first day of the new year made the atmosphere of the ceremony more solemn, sacred and proud. Captain Le Nguyen Hoang, Captain of the Mass Mobilization Team, Dak Rue Border Guard Station, who was assigned to read the 10 honorary oaths of soldiers, said that he spent a night practicing his reading voice, expressing the heroic spirit, solemnity and determination of officers and soldiers at the beginning of the new year. Carrying the 10 honorary oaths of soldiers in his will, Captain Le Nguyen Hoang is always aware that he must perform well to complete the assigned tasks; close to the people, close to the base to "when he goes, the people remember, when he stays, the people love". Captain Bui Thanh Liem, Deputy Head of Dak Rue Border Guard Station, shared that the flag-saluting activity at the border guard station is a task and tradition that is maintained regularly every month in the unit. On the occasion of the New Year, the Flag-Salute Ceremony aims to educate officers and soldiers about patriotism, national pride and determination; from there, officers and soldiers continue to unite, unify, and complete their assigned tasks well. Under the fluttering national flag, each song of the National Anthem and each oath of honor of the soldiers makes the New Year spirit of officers and soldiers more exciting and more determined. Through the New Year Flag-Salute Ceremony, each officer and soldier is more steadfast in their love for the country, together excited and striving to perform their tasks well, firmly protecting the sovereignty, territorial integrity, and national border security.
