According to preliminary statistics from the General Department of Customs, Vietnam's petroleum exports in December 2023 increased by 9.3% in volume and 7.4% in value compared to the previous month, reaching 286,797 tons, worth 242.6 million USD. In 2023, petroleum exports reached 2,377,887 tons, worth 2.02 billion USD, up 13.2% in volume and down 1.1% in value.

Cambodia remains Vietnam's largest petroleum export market, in 2023, reaching 517,220 tons, worth 438.06 million USD, down 18.8% in volume and 33% in value over the same period last year, accounting for more than 21% of total volume and total export turnover.
In December 2023, Vietnam exported 42,852 tons to the market, worth 34.6 million USD, down 12.5% in volume and 15.6% in value, down 27 USD/ton compared to the previous month.
Ranked second is the Korean market, accounting for 9-10% of the total volume and total turnover, reaching 220,775 tons, turnover of 208.9 million USD, up 69.2% in volume and 50.9% in value; in December 2023 alone, it reached 21,748 tons, worth 21.2 million USD.
Next is the Singapore market, accounting for 13.5% of total volume and 9.9% of total turnover, reaching 322,018 tons, turnover of 202.18 million USD, up 80.3% in volume and 67.4% in value; December 2023 alone reached 67,952 tons, worth 47.1 million USD.
Petroleum exports to the Chinese market account for more than 7-8% of the total volume and turnover, reaching 184,646 tons, with turnover reaching 178.2 million USD, up 41.5% in volume and 19.8% in value in 2023; in December 2023 alone, exports decreased by 33.5% in volume and 37.1% in value.
Next are the markets of Laos, Malaysia and Thailand, which only account for a small export proportion of less than 3% of total volume and total turnover.
